Dear John
I am honored to receive your message.
We fully recognize the potential application of STAMP technology in providing long-lasting protective effects against bacteria induced halitosis. In fact, we are engaging active research and product development in this area that we hope to be able to provide a cure in the near future.
Always have the faith.
Best regards.

Dear Dr. Wenyuan Shi,
I come before you as a desperate and morally defeated member of two
internet support groups, Breathhelp4u and Badbreathhalitosis.com. We
are desperately seeking a medically acceptable cure, a solution, even
a ?band aid? remedy to help us deal with a most miserable, socially
crippling, and psychologically demoralizing disorder call chronic
halitosis.
Dr. Shi, suffering from this physiological/medical breath ailment is
demoralizing, utterly shameful, and completely consuming. Our internet
support groups consist of nearly 700 members, hundreds worldwide
visitors browsing the sites searching, hoping, and praying that
someone, somewhere has miraculously found a cure. Some come for
guidance, support, even to borrow a sympathy ear to vent their
frustrations, release their pain, and pour out tears of sorrow, tears
of anguish to those whom empathize.
Regardless, everyone come as broken, defeated, and demoralized
individuals without hope, but continues searching aimlessness for a
cure despite none exists.
Sir, chronic halitosis is a most demoralizing disorder that destroys
one?s soul; gash away the core of the individual?s self-esteem, self-
worth, and dignity. I can?t fully express to you in words how
devastated we are to suffer this breath abnormality without hope of
relief, without hope of being cured, without hope of ever living a
normal life free from shame and embarrassment.
On a daily basis, we hide in our shells, afraid of socializing with
people because of embarrassing reactions by those we have to speak with
at work and in our personal lives. Such examples of daily shame and
embarrassments are people placing their hand over their noses, offering
us mints and gum, and stepping away from us due to offensive, foul odor
emitting from our mouths when we openly communicate. To hear others
privately talking or gossiping about our breath condition is utterly
demoralizing. We are helpless to relieving our symptoms.
We religiously brush our teeth up to four times a day, floss, and use
non-alcohol antibacterial halitosis mouthwash without any positive
effect. I can go on describing to you our perfect oral hygiene regimen,
tongue cleaning, avoiding certain foods, avoiding smoking, avoiding
drinking sugary beverages, ect, but it?s fruitless to go on describing
the things we do in vain just to find temporary relief but without
success.
I have personally spoken to experts in the field of biotechnology
begging them for help. Written to Ophra Winfrey, Tyra Banks,
drug/pharmaceutical companies, doctors, and dentists, begging,
pleading, and crying out for help for myself and for my fellow
sufferers. Our doctors, dentists, Ear Nose Throat Specialists, are
helpless to helping us. None were able to rally our cause, to champion
our plight, to reaching down and pulling us from the pit of our
despair.
The very last words spoken to me over the telephone by the renowned
physician and molecular biologist, Dr. Jeffery Hillman of Oragenics
Biopharmaceutical were; ?John, despite how far we have achieved in
medical advancements, I don?t believe there will be a cure for chronic
halitosis within my lifetime.?
Dr. Hillman?s words broke my heart. I wept in despair.
The members have tried every remedy, intervention, and halitosis
product imaginable. All failed despite their promises of a cure, these
products are misleading, untrustworthy, and completely deceptive.
Therabreath, ProFresh, Oxyfresh, K12Bliss are just a few that are
aggressively claiming a cure for halitosis.
Nonetheless, we continue to believe a true ?champion,? a true cure will
someday rescue us from our despair. We believe Dr. Shi, we believe.
Most recently, your work was highlighted by one of our members. He
posted your discovery published October 2006, on Antimicrobial Agent
and Chemotherapy, Health Day News. It indicated a new treatment was
found that destroys the bacteria that may contribute to chronic
halitosis. In particular, your discovery called Specifically Targeted
Antimicrobial Peptides (STAMP) and its ability to eradicate bacterial
infection without destroying beneficial bacteria the body needs.
Halitosis is not a simple disorder to remedy. We are fully aware of
bacterial mutation and ?super? adaptive ability to regenerating
anaerobic organisms.
Dr. Shi, we wholeheartedly believe that your discovery is the
breakthrough technology that we have been desperately waiting for all
our lives. This breakthrough may somehow benefit our plight by opening
the door of bondage which enslaved chronic halitosis sufferers since
time, if you chose to be our champion by helping us finding a viable
cure for chronic halitosis.
However, we realized that halitosis is not the main directive for your
discovery. When the timing is appropriate to implementing research
designs, studies, and the formulation of a viable cure specifically for
chronic halitosis, please consider the members as ?experimental
subjects? in your endeavor. We are more than willing to contribute any
way shapes or forms if a viable cure was presented to us. We can be
contacted at the following sites, Badbreathhalitosis.com and
Breathhelp4u on yahoo.
Dr. Shi, someday when you are standing in front of the world?s most
brilliant scientific minds proudly receiving your Nobel Prize,
realizing the impediment of your scientific achievement, please
remember our anguish, our sufferings, and our state of despair living
with chronic halitosis. Remember our desperate cries for help, for
freedom, crying out for a champion such as yourself. Please be
compelled to act with mercy and compassion to helping us as well as
those suffering from cancer or HIV. After, all these sufferers have a
greater chance of complete cure than we can ever hope for.
Only if we had a brilliant mind such as yours to champion our cause,
there would be a cure decades ago. We would be leading productive,
satisfied, and grateful lives.
If you have a few minutes to spare, your words of encouragement to the
members of Breathhelp4u and Badbreathhalitosis.com would be an honor.
Faithfully,
John XXXXXXXXX
