PARALYZED &PREGNANT/ SUPER OBESE /HALF BODY MAN

Post by trenski »

I was watching The Learning Channel and imagining if I were paralyzed, super obese, or had half my body, or even a dwarf would it be as depressing as having BB. The people on those shows seem to have accepted their situation and seem to be content with it. I wonder if their reactions are as bad as having BB. That's the hardest part for me are the reactions I get because of my BB. And all of them are married/ and or in relationships and have children. It's so hard for me to even want to date because my BB is so potent & offensive. Despite their situation/disability they have found companionship. Why do you all think people view us BB sufferers as being so repulsive and don't want to be bothered with us? It seems to me people will tolerate other flaws or disabilities, but when it comes to BB everyone "runs".

I think the answer is pretty easy in my opinion.

Most people view chronic bad breath sufferers as the condition is their own fault. They think that bad breath sufferers are failing to brush their teeth or go to the dentist etc etc. They don't understand that most of the time chronic bad breath sufferers have impeccable oral hygiene. They think that bad breath is something that can be easily controlled, and that bad breath sufferers are failing to control it through laziness or ignorance. How many times has a bad breath sufferer had someone tell them that they need to brush their teeth, or go to the dentist?

For the other people with disabilities which you mentioned, people view them as the condition is not their own fault. If someone is paralyzed, or has only half of their limbs, they can't really control that, so people feel sorry for them, and treat them with more respect. Even people who are obese tend to be viewed as if they couldn't help being that way (although I personally feel that obesity is less to do with genetics and more to do with lifestyle choices). Anyway, the fact is, people still view these types of people as if their unfortunate condition is something that is beyond their control, and therefore have more sympathy towards them.
