Post nasal drip

I am pretty sure that it is post nasal drip that is causing my BB. It has been the one thing that has been present in the 20 years I have struggled with BB. The only time that I did not have bb is when I lived in an apartment by the beach - no grass or plants around and more humid air. I must be allergic to some kind of plant, but I have had allergy test and nothing has come up. Soon after I moved into a house the bb came back and so did the pnd. I have tried Claritin and Allegra and the pnd does not go away. The only other thing I was doing during my non bb time was exercising A LOT and taking Vit C and protein shakes - I was the fittest I have ever been - so maybe my immune system was strong and knocked out the pnd.
Other things I thought it might be was my hiatal hernia and my tonsiliths, but I do not think that I have always had the hiatal hernia and I got my tonsils out 4 years ago. My breath smells like sulfer, so I think it is from the VSCs coming off my tounge. I have been using a sinus irregation kit, wich helps for a few hours after I use it, but then the pnd is back.
I have been taking lots of Vit C, but the pnd is still present. So, now I will try to get back to the gym and see if it helps.

I notice when I consume alot of dairy I am prone to developing it. I was drinking alot of kefir for health reasons..it is like yogurt and developed pnd, so I had to stop. So you might want to try cutting out dairy or very small amounts and see if that helps.
Maybe you might have a sinus infection in one of your nasal cavities..just throwing out possibilities.
What is a hiatial hernia, would that be located in your groin area?

Exactly what food we eat cotains dairy? Milk, cheese and.. ?

The worst offender is cheese...it is sticky mucus forming!
sour cream
cream cheese is very mucus forming
cottage cheese
Yogurt, kefir
whipped cream, mostly anything cream is dairy.
Yes definitely don't drink alot of milk. Almond milk, is a lot less mucus forming and non dairy. Soy milk is more mucus forming than almond milk. Hemp milk is healthiest but the taste is off. Almond milk is actually close to the taste of milk!
If you go to a restaurant and order anything with a cream sauce, such as clam chowder.
I suppose butter is dairy, made from milk
I know eggs are dairy, but I'm not sure if they are mucus forming. I know a healthy bb free holistic doctor that eats hard boiled eggs daily. For me, I don't think hard boiled eggs effect my breath and they are delicious. But I notice when I make over easy eggs...it makes my room stink bad, and it makes my breath stink grossly too for some time.
mayonaise but i believe you can buy dairy free which is without egg in it. I'm up in the air about mayonaise, I think a sparingly amount isnt too bad. And i also wonder if it's made with hard boiled egg than it might not be so bad.
Key is avoid cheese and the harder it is worst it is. Dont drink large amounts of milk. You might want to try nettie potting your nasal area to dillute your mucus and make it more watery. I think it would help alot. Do a search on the internet for mucus forming foods and you will find that there are foods that cause mucus that arent even dairy, such as soy.
I just did a search and on the first page came up with this quote, "Soy beans are the most mucus forming foods of all plant foods."
Drink alot of water, even better if you squeeze lemon or lime juice in it for vitamin C.
Grains might be mucus forming,,but you'll have to research it I'm not totally sure.

Egg yolk has a ton of choline in it. You may have TMAU. You don't have to have body odor to have it. Just in case this is what I have I stay away from egg yolk, beans, soy, peanuts, fish and broccoli. Choline is in everything so you cannot totally avoid it, but by cutting out the really high choline foods you can make a difference. This disease is sometimes triggered with a change in hormones, and is not detected by close family because they have acclimated to it I guess. I have often thought I had this because my bb started when I got on birth control and my close family and husband cannot smell it.
check out the woman on you tube - search TMAU - we can all relate to her...

Thanks for good advices.
Really interesting. I had a suspicion for the egg yolk being the offender. Especially if i eat a soft boiled egg.
I had a confirmation on this once. I had a really good day bb wise and had several conversations with people at work with no reactions. Than i ate lunch.. guess what.. Soon after i went on to help a colleague at her desk and she immediately burst out with "wow it smells sewer around here".
How does BB in TMAU sufferers smell like?

I may be wrong, but I dont think it works this quickly. Its not the actual choline that smells in TMAU. When you eat something with lots of choline in it, like eggs, it first has to pass through the stomach and into the intestines (at least a couple of hours). It then has to be broken down by gut bacteria and turned into trimethylamine, which then gets absorbed into the bloodstream. For those who lack the enzymes to turn trimethlyamine into the non-smelling form of trimethylamine, you end up smelling of this potent chemical - a fishy/garbage odour.
GoodLuck, eggs contain lots of protein, like milk, and other dairy products. Your mouth and throat will be coated in this when you eat and provide a boost to your oral bacterial activity. For anyone with BB relating to their tongue odours this is going to result in increased levels of VSCs and BB.
Try to obtain the correct type of Zinc based mouthwash which aydinmur recommends to confirm whether your BB is type-1 (from the mouth/tongue) or not.

Hi tired,
I suggest, again, (i'm boring, I know) go to the roots of BB. Pnd is co cuase of BB, like candida: candida overgrowth transform mucus in sulfur compounds and this stiks a lot.
Keep in mind a lot of us have the same synthoms: BB, candida, white coated tongue, pnd. This kind of BB has is origin in mercury poison (we are poisoned from amalgams, but even from food etc) : IT'S USELESS TO FIGHT CANDIDA, PND, AND TRY EVERY OTHER EXPEDIENT FOR BB WITHOUT DEALING WITH ITS CAUSES, or what should be the cause for a lot our BB.

Learn the symptoms. Some of the early symptoms of Mercury poison are depression, fatigue, insomnia, dulled senses, and memory loss. More about the symptoms of Mercury poison can be found at Medicine net.com.
Step 2
Discover if you have mercury poison in your body. First find out if you've had any Amalgam fillings in the past. Another indication of mercury poison is lack of short memory. Having strange sensations or numbness in any part of your body is another indication. If you think you may have been poisoned, you will want to be tested by a physician.
Step 3
Watch your diet. Proper amounts of proteins, water, minerals, and fatty acid are important in the detox program for ridding the body naturally of mercury. Protein acts as a shuttle for mercury and other toxins. It helps eliminate them from the body. Water is crucial for detoxification. The kidneys filter toxins from the body. Without enough water they can become contaminated. Selenium, manganese, molybdenum, zinc, and germanium are just some of the minerals that help detox the body of mercury and other poisonous compounds. Deficiency of lipids made from fatty acids affect the nervous system; making it vulnerable to metals.
Step 4
Use an herb called Cilantro Tincture. Take two drops internally two times per day or rub five drops onto the wrists, ankles, and joints twice a day. Add to tea using 10 to 20 drops for every one cup of hot water.
Step 5
Use garlic. Garlic makes certain metals including mercury water soluble. This makes it easier for the body to rid itself of mercury. The reason it is able to do this is credited to its sulphur compounds which oxidizes mercury. These are just a few of the ways to detox the body of mercury naturally. The good news is that these are natural and good for the body in so many other ways. Therefore, no adverse side effects take place.
We have to remove the cause and the effects (God willing) will disapper as well.
Be blessed

Hey everyone,
PND has been the number one offender in my books also.
I recently went back to the ENT department of the local hospital for the second time in maybe four years.
I again had scans on my sinuses which came back ok. The doctor put a camera up my nose to see if he could see any problems, again everything was fine apart from he saying there was a lot of mucus up there. Well yea, thats what my trouble is!!! lol
I had an allergy test and clear again. It was strange as the homeopath i used to see said i was allergic to dairy products.
His conclusion was that i have non-allergic rhinitis, so theres nothing in particular thats causing the excess mucus. Just one of those things.
You can imagine my thoughts as i exited the hospital, great i will just have to accept it.
I think because the tube linking the nose to the throat is always packed with mucus this is where the smell is coming from.
My teeth as in fine condition. I have recently started getting bad acid reflux but been prescribed Lansoprazole which helped the acid a bit but didnt alter the rotten egg smell.
Oh i didnt mention, i asked the doctor if the PND could be causing a smell, he said only infected mucus would cause a smell. I said what about sulphar compounds feeding on the mucus and hence causing the smell.
He said no, only infected mucus would smell. I dont agree with him even though he is the doctor! lol
Anyway, i havent been on the forum in a while so hello again smellies
