I'm 35, have had bb since I was 14. Breath had very strong pungent smell, bad smell from tongue, between teeth. I suffered the usual social problems that anyone with bb has, people telling me I stink, asking if i farted when I talk, blah blah. I basically just stopped talking. I went to dentist, doctor, ent and none coul offer any help. When I was 24 I went to Toronto to get treatment from Anne Bosy. She gave me chlorhexidine which did nothing, then she gave me an antibiotic rinse which I believe was flagyl. This seemed to work quite well and improved smell dramatically but I still got negative feedback from people I talked to. My breath has never been as bad since I've used the antibiotic. I can't detect any smell from tongue although I have a constant white coating on tongue. Breath is worst if I have a cold, if I get gingivitis from going to long without a cleaning. I believe my breath can be smelled from 3-5 feet away typically but further if I'm have a bad spell. I was camping recently with buddies and I was blowing on the fire to get it going and my friend who was on the other side of the fire about 12 feet away said sarcastically "that smells good when you blow on the fire". I knew what he was talking about cause I could tell my breath was bad despite having good hygiene that day. Next time I saw one of the other guys on the trip he said "you smelled like shit last time I saw you". He was drunk and joking around but I got the point. There is no doubt in my mind that I still have this problem and I've tried every product out there to treat it but nothing works.
I'm have had some digestive problems for the last 3 years so I'm wondering if it could be related. I'm constipated and I have a burning, inflammed feeling in my lower left abdomine. Could this be an H pylori infection?

I'm by no means a doctor, but H pylori is usually in the stomach. Your problem appears to be in the descending colon. For that you might have to see a gastroenterologist. It might not be related to your bad breath. By the way, a man I know in my building had Heliobacter pylori in his stomach and was treated for it for a long time, but he never had bad breath.

Is it typical for someone to use an antibiotic to have symptoms greatly reduced but not fully cured? My breath has never been as bad as it was since using that antibiotic.

Hai Paul B. Sorry to be a bother but i have no one to test this on who has the exact symptoms you have. Could you try eliminating anything with rapeseed(canola oil) and any vegetable oil per se. from your diet for slightly over a week and keep me posted.

You dont have to do it if you dont want to . atleast i tried to ask.anyone else who wants to try can also do the same

Dont despair if it wont make a change in your breath(sorry) but i think theres two sides of the coin to your bad breath cause and well flip to side b if this doesnt work. could explain my theories and i can write down a few chemical formulae that have brought it right down to ''Clostridium botulinum'' everywhere i turn and have found strains in my puke samples i cultured a month ago.

a few pepsin enzyme capsules/tablets durin the elimination period will probably do you more good. P.s any animal fat will do for frying n the sorts. if you dont like veggies much then totalllly drop them too(especially chinese broccholli)

im not offering hope or anything but thought since you're probably going to keep on tryin to fight this demon i can hold your hand thru it(no homo)

Just wondering, what happened when you tried this? From what i read bb isn't a symptom of botulism. Although dry mouth apparently is. Personally I had bb for almost 20 years before I had any digestive issues so I doubt that it is related. Could you explain a little more what you are experimenting with?
Thanks!
