Halimeter - is it worth buying?
Has anyone tried using a halimeter? Im planning to do some experiments. Is it too expensive to own one?

Maybe Jimi could start a collection for 1 we could ship around fromwaiting2xhale wrote:I wouldnt mind having one. how much are they Im in the usa.
member to member =) . I'd surely be interested . Better might be having a
Dr or Dentist that was truly interested fixing BB . A Dr didn't charge an arm
or leg to have us visit for a minute to breath into a machine and leave.
Usually any medical devise has a Huge mark-up . http://store.halimeter.com/ I'm sure research could find cheaper ,smaller versions but then theres the possibility that its fake or not working too.

Halimeter
So, in other words it’s not worth buying one as they are just not accurate enough in the detection of VSCs (Volatile Sulfur Compounds) responsible for breath odour. It is a relatively accurate instrument for the measurement of hydrogen sulfide but measures methyl mercaptan to about a 50% accuracy and dimethyl sulfide to an even lesser degree. When the predominant odour is methyl mercaptan, there is usually a low reading on the Halimeter when compared to the organoleptic rating.
