i just wanted to know what other people are doing to cope with there silent reflux problems and how the plan to restore there ecological balnce in there gut

i have a few things that actually make it worse and would warn against using them

1.antacids-i know its very hard to spend a whole day tolerated that constant burning sensation but whenever i take antacids my breath goes horribly bad

2.probiotics-they are a load of crap they dont really restore the natural balnce how could they there like a maximum of 15strains in even the most diverse of them and our guts have over 300 strains and often these cause me constipation and make my breath worse

the only thing that has improved my breath is

1.laxatives-okay these were not the regular laxatives you get in every day store i live in india and there was this herbal doctor who supplies me with these laxatives i took them for a week and my acidity and constipation heave almost gone but bb still remains slightly i guess i still have silent reflux

so people can you share what works and doesnt work for you?

i find the taking ACV ( 1-2 tablesppoons) after a meal helps a lot. i dont know if it increases the acid in my stomach or decreases it, but 50% is gone. doesn't last forever and im still looking for the main cause.

i live in india
I disagree with your assessment of probiotics (although I'm not disputing your own personal experience with them). Perhaps your bad luck with them is due to the fact that you live in India. I live in Thailand, and the selection of probiotics here are nothing compared to what they are in America. I guess probiotics haven't caught on here yet like they have in other parts of the world. There are so many choices of probiotics in America, whereas here there are only like 3 or 4 choices of probiotics (none of which I take). That's why I have my probiotics brought to me from America.

Not all probiotics are created equal. Some are really great and have been researched though independent organizations such as ConsumerLabs.com, while others didn't quite make the grade in regards to quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. That's why it's important before you buy any probiotics to do your homework on each specific brand.

If your gut is filled with bad bacteria, then of course probiotics are going to give you some stomach troubles during the first couple weeks (or even months). Do you think all that crap bacteria in your gut wants to go down without a fight? Probiotics help to restore the natural balance in the gut, but it doesn't happen overnight. You've got to stick with it, and additionally change your diet and lifestyle choices so the probiotic bacteria will stick. If you can't or aren't willing to make these changes, then yeah, probiotics are a waste of time.

There's been so much research on probiotics and their effectiveness in treating a range of illnesses. Even if they don't cure your bad breath, they are still super beneficial to take and might play a part in your overall cure, provided you are getting good quality ones.

@ keeptrying: what particular probiotics work well? where i come from, there are also several variants, each with a different composition, each with varying amounts of bacteria, and i cant decide which one to get.

we don't have i-flora here though (i've read some positive stuff about that brand in the other threads)

as for oral probiotic lozenges (with M18 i think) - those darn nasty things seem to make my mouth drier, and they leave white stuff on my tongue.they also seem to make my bb worse :(

thanks and lookin forward to your response :)
