Best Tongue Scraper in the World

Post by Phantasist »

Take all your plastic tongue scrapers and throw them in the garbage!

I bought a pure copper tongue scraper from Spices World through Amazon.com for $3.29. (Go to Amazon and do a search for copper tongue scraper). It is shaped like a big "U" and has a sharp edge. You hold the two ends and you can reach all the way back to your throat without gagging. It gets the gunk off your tongue better than anything!

For those who think tongue scraping is useless, please realize that the white coating on your tongue forms a protective layer for the anaerobic bacteria on the tongue surface. So, even if you rinse and gargle with an antibacterial rinse, it can't get to the anaerobes. First you have to scrape, then rinse and gargle. Also, bend forward, vigorously clear your throat, and then drink a little hot water to wash the mucus in your throat down into your stomach. (It will be taken care of by the stomach acid.)

This is not an actual cure for bad breath, because there is some underlying cause for the white coating, but it will be a big help to get you through the day until a cure is found.

Well, as far as the uselessness of tongue scrapers goes, I believe I answered that in my post, and no one says you have to scrape so hard as to "wreck" your taste buds.
