I am new to this forum and have read several different stories here and I can relate to them all. I dont want to go on about how horribly this BB has effected my life because I already know that you are all currently experiencing the same thing but I would like to discuss different methods which I am about to try.
I recently visited a naturopath who said that my BB was being caused by poor digestion. She said that because I was not digesting my food properly, it was rotting in my stomach and releasing awful smelling gas up through my mouth. (when she said this, it made sense to me because I have BB all day, every second). She told me that I had to take enzymes with my food to help break it down. I did this for about three weeks while on a diet of only green vegetables and protein (meat and fish). After three weeks I had not see much of a difference in my breath but I was forced to stop after losing a ridiculous amount of weight. (I lost over 15lbs in those three weeks and considering that I am a small girl, I could not afford to lose any more). I am now wondering if I maybe did not give this method enough of a try.
I also believe that I may have Candida. I know that some people don't believe in it but the only relief that I ever had from this awful condition was about 5 years ago when I went on a gluten and bread free diet. I of course at the time did not put two and two together so here I am with breath that is worse then ever before and that simple diet no longer works.
As of right now, I am going on a gluten, lactose, and sugar free diet, and I am considering trying to take the enzymes with each meal again. Also, I have read that Vitamin C powder, zinc, and vitamin B helps this issue too so I will throw all of those in as well. This must help at least a little and at this point I have nothing to lose.
I am just wondering if anyone has any comments on this plan and whether they believe the poor digestion theory (considering that I am in my early twenties and in pretty good health) and if so, how long do you thing it will take for it to start working.
Thanks for reading, and I would be more than happy to hear from other people who are suffering through this as well as I have never spoken about my condition to anyone before.

I am attempting this cure
sorry, I suppose it would be helpful for me to post some of my symptoms.
I had an endoscope which showed that I have inflammation in my stomach and gastritis. I also have post nasal drip which creates tonnes of clear, thick mucus that can not be removed by any spray or rinse. Other than that, I feel boated very often which I believe could very well be related to the BB.
By the way, My BB is just awful. It is there day and night and it never goes away. I chew gum contently but I feel like the gum sometimes makes it worse after a while and increase the thick white coating on my tongue. (But chewing gum is the only temporary relief that i get).
If anyone else has similar symptoms, feel free to let me know and maybe we can find a cure by discussing what we have tried and what does and does not work.
Thank you,

hi rikki. I too think that what we eat can be one of the reasons some us have bb. I just started to get some relief from my bb (not all) after focusing on what Im eating.....Amazingly enough I started to see that alot of what I stop eating helped me breathe a bit easier. Literally. I found a website that talks about candida and I think that I may have a overgrowth of yeast that is causing the white tounge.
Not totally sure because I have been doing alot of different things as well.

Hello Rikki and everyone, newbie here.
I think your mucus could be a major culprit, although in case of severe bb, like mine, you cannot exclude a combination of factors. My mucus is also thick and clear, and clings to the surface of a sink when I spit it out (I am wondering if everyone's is like that?). In anycase, I think that because of that property it promotes the growth of certain bacterial populations. Bacteria in the mouth love to form biofilms where they can interact with each other to survive better, and different bacteria will form different biofilms. My guess is we have particularly nasty biofilms and we should try to modify our oral niche to shift its bacterial population. I personally use the neti pot morning/evening, baking soda gargle for 15 min morning evening, and a ipratropium bromide spray 3x times a day. it's not a cure, but it helps.
Also, as others have said on this forum, you have to find ways to be strong inside, not to care that much about your bb all the time. I know it's tough somtimes, heck most of the time, but try. I am 50 now and have had real bb since age 11. I have had a great life, family, and successful career, don't let the bb beat you, don't despair. There is always tomorrow, and who knows, a cure. Cheers!
