Anyone here have significant others who are bb free and want to share their experience?

me and my ex bf hav been on n off ever since my bb i stated in another post weve been 2gather 10 yrs & ive had bb for 5 so hes had 5 good yrs & 5 bad as far as bb. i honestly dont know why he still loves me bc ive changed i dnt like to go out anymore im snappy at him and dont really say much when hes around. we dnt kiss or cuddle i dnt want to like this and im sure he doesnt either although we have great spectacular sex togather.hes the only one out of everyone even my family who can put up with my bb. today i was upclose and personal in his face while he helped me with something and he didnt cover his nose or open his mouth although i do catch him sometimes in other instances but its only natural for nyone with a nose so it doesnt bother me. not once has he ever mentioned an odor or anything about my bb he knows im fragile and want say anything hurtful about me even though i do it to him when we argue. to make a long story short i love this man soooo much for protecting my feelings but my bb is the main thing thats keeping us apart.

I'm sooo sorry you are plagued with this. Your boyfriend sounds like a dear soul. I know that bb can mess with our psyche's and taint our outlook and perceptions. Maybe you should talk with him about it and how it bears on your behavior at times. (((hug)))

When I didnt know about my BB , I wish So bad in hindsight that my x-gf would have said Something ,Honest and straight forward . There was something distrustful there i felt. Halitophobia (for either party)is likely Much worse on a relationship than halitosis . The self esteem , uncomfortable unspoken issues build a wall between 2 people.

I was at a Dr's last week about an unrelated issue and I started to see him nose rub,cough.. ,etc .. I felt really uncomfortable about that "wall" my breath starts but that silence continues building . So I brought up my BB, he continued to play dum but the monkey was off my back now. I suddenly felt comfortable and open and I breathed and spoke easy. If he has a problem with my BB now ,he better say something . I did my part :|

We can't let the Stigma of BB be worse than the BB itself whenever possible . I see peoples mad looks sometimes like "why doesnt he just brush" or wutevers in their minds, like they have the answer to it All .

I'm Very curious to know how open you and he have been about BB . Member arawrebirth20 was saying how his girl wished he would stop his anxiety about bb, because she didn't care about his bb. It seems that the anxiety about bb is what drove them apart ,not the bb. Valuable lesson ? Maybe its understandable that it will be hard to meet someone New with our BB, but if someone is already over our bb and want us to be over it too , that person is a Godsend and a Keeper on my book.

everything your saying is so very true its the stigma of bb thats worse sometimes like you i never knew i had bb until it became chronic. it may sound crazy but in some ways i want him to think its just bad oral hygiene something easy to fix and not the uncureable disability that it is. however the past few days ive been extra strength probiotics, laxatives, and this candida cleanse i got from vitamin shoppe and my bb is not room filling anymore im going to keep on with this and hope that it cures me for good.

i am seeing a wonderful person right now, but i always try to clean my mouth as well as possible right before we are together so he doesn't experience the bb in full force (like at the end of a day of work when i don't have access to my bathroom for the whole day, had been eating and drinking during the day, etc.). if my bb is around, i won't kiss him or if he goes in for one, i will give him a closed mouth kiss. i am sure he notices this..

i think i only have moderate bb these days (after going to a breath clinic about 7 years ago and have since then been using rinses) so i don't find that anyone ever backs away from me or rubs their nose. however, i remember a friend doing that to me in gr.7 - she backed away and covered her nose.. so i know this problem has plagued me since i was a kid.

if my bb is very bad, i will chew gum and try to not speak directly at people, so i think i just mask it well at those times.

none of this is a good way to live, as you know.

anyway, i dated a guy with bb once and i remember it would go through ups and downs. there'd be some days when it was not detectable and others when it was.. and sometimes only at certain moments was it detectable. i remember i didn't like to kiss him when his bb was bad (though i was conscious not to do anything to make him notice that). we never talked about bb. he'd ask me sometimes if his breath was bad when we were kissing and i'd lie and say no (not good, i know). he never mentioned mine. a friend of mine currently has bb and it can be pretty bad after he drinks alcohol if we are out. i try not to let it show and if it is bad, i might hold my breath, for example, so as not to smell his bb if he is speaking near my nose. i tried to subtly tell him about his bb once by sending him an anonymous postcard email i found online at a bb site once, but not sure if he took it seriously or not.

i know this is all bad but even though i have bb, it's not pleasant experiencing it from others as well. it makes me think a lot of people must secretly hold their breaths and try not to show they are affected by my bb.
