i have approached to an ENT doctor due to my PND after getting my toinsils removed about a month ago. it was say that i have allergies which lead to sinusitis that eventually caused PND. what my doctor did is prescibing some medication in order to improve my sinusitis and advice me to do exercisis for cure.it was found no infection.but all this do not help to dissolve my PND, and i'm suffering from coughing badly, bad breath, and some thick yellowish discharge from my nostrils.( which indicate a bac infection from what i have read from some wed site). i get confused by this. my PND is getting serious i feel because it cauese some change im my voice for sometimes. now, i'm consuming some chinesemedicatonbut it only helps to reduce my cough but not PND. i dare not to approach to the ENT doc as my mother has lost her interest in helping me as i have spent alot of money for tosillectomy.
do i have any wrong info about PND?
so can anyone tell me the ways of dissolving the PND? or who should i approach to besides the doc?
i cant wait to recover from bb...

I`ve had pnd for 13 years & the only remedies that cured it are probiotics & spirulina. Spirulina`s got a natural antihistamine so it might work for you if your problem is related to allergy. It also had lots of vitamins so it might boost your body`s immune system to fight the infection. You have to be patient though coz the result may take a while depending on how your body will respond to it.

thanks for the replies.
JC, so for your case, is the PND that causes bb??
does spirulina available in the market?? or i have to get it from pharmist?
so austuser, after eliminating your PND, do you still have bb??
* i'm so sorry to ask u guys this kind of question because i'm not sure whether my bb is due to my pnd...sorry..

spirulina is available in any healthstore. Regarding my pnd, I used to think that it was the cause of my bb but after it was cured my bb`s still there. Although I think that the first step in curing bb is to eliminate the pnd so the succeeding treatments could function well. It`s hard to cure bb as long as you have pnd coz it provides these bacterias unlimited supply of food. If your bb`s gone after treating your pnd then you don`t have to worry anymore coz pnd`s not that hard to treat.

thanks jc for the information.
i'll try to have the spirulina or probiotics. i hope that it won't be too costful.
hopefully it works for me as i dont wish to get dissapointed again just like the tonsillectomy did it to me.
*sorry again to ask you another question..
if not the pnd that causes your bb, then wats the cause then? i wish to know whether i have the same symptoms as you,maybe..
anyway,thank you very much!!

Maybe after treating PND you should try some antibiotic like metronidazole or the h.pylori treatment so it gets rid all those bacteria that flourished while you had PND?

I wish I knew what`s causing my bb but after years of consulting with doctors & eliminating one by one the possible culprits I still have it. I`m not a big fan of antibiotics but I must admit that it did improved my breath. Although you must try the safer remedies first before trying that out coz it`s risky & some members reported that the meds didn`t do them any good. Regarding the pnd, I took the probiotics & spirulina at the same time so I`m not sure which of them dissolved my pnd. I was also diagnosed with asymptomatic sinusitis but I think prolonged use of spirulina cured it coz of its immune boosting & anti allergenic qualities.

Metronidazole improved my breath too! I actually ate 2x 10 days, there was about a gap of 3 months between each treatment. The first treatment became ineffective for some reason, maybe because I didn't understand the power probiotics had, but the 2nd worked wonders. My BB's a lot better and I haven't had even as many reactions as before. Therefore I would really recommend you to try it with probiotics.
In short for poor english : Try metronidazole, use probiotics with it and eat probiotics and vitamins every day for the rest of your life

Lost - not to beat around the bush, there is no cure for PND so far. Chances ENT doctor will help you borders with 0.0000000001%, you will waste the money. If it would be free then by all means 1 opinion more won't hurt, but i can guess already it wouldn't be free.
People define PND very subjetivly. I never had that kind of yellowish discharge in nose. My sinuses are not infected. Maybe you do have something i don't. I can feel the drip going down my throat sometimes very clearly. Also after i eat alot of times i have the need to caugh to clear my throat. Thats also a sign of my PND. There is no product that i know that can dissolve it so that it goes away. I also read on the web that it is NORMAL to have drip going down the throat cause our nose is constantly producing that mucous or whatever is called (im not sure if i agree with that or not).
On antibiotics note - i would avoid taking them! Every doctor will tell you they are taken only when you have symptoms of some disease which is treated with antibiotics. They could do more damage then good. They could be making bacteria more resistant as well. Plus last time i was taking them for about 2 weeks... i had toenail growing into my toe so it got infected - my tongue was covered with huge amounts of coating like never before and my breath was much more smelly.
All i know is that having PND out of my throat makes me have less bad breath. There is ONLY 1 mouthwash from many i tried that is able to get PND out of my throat when gargling (if anyone knows other cheap way of getting PND out of our throat please post it here!). I won't say here which product was that mouthwash, all im gonna say is i bought it in Boots (thats a chain of retail stores in UK/Ireland with cosmetics/skin/health products). Costs around 6.50 euros. Gargling works for about 20-30 mins of lower bad breath untill my PND drips in my throat more. Also running helped alot. 30 mins of running made my PND much less, my sinuses more clear and my throat more clear. If you combine those 2 you get even better results. Never completely without bad breath for more than 30-40 mins in my experience.
Also avoid dairy food - milk, yogurt (specially fruit yogurt cause of more sugar), eggs, butter as well as it makes PND worse. Basically more vegetables you eat and less everything else, less PND you will have.
EDIT: i haven't tried metronidazole so i dont have experience with it.

Austuser,
You said it appeared that after antibiotic treatment when you tried Threelac you experienced about 2 days of incredibly strong bad breath. You said you would write to company making it. After you stopped using it (after 2 days i assume) your bad breath went to that 80% good status again if im not mistaken. In following posts you said you had tonsil stone that was awfully smelly. After that you stated you had more of stones so that could be connected to awful bad breath. Then you said antibiotic treatment finally failed cause you are where you started.
I ask you this:
1. did you contact company making Threelac as you said you would? if you did explain details about it please
2. did you try to use Threelac again after you discovered faul smell could be mostly coming from tonsil stones?
3. do you agree that Threelac didn't have anything to do with you 'catching' that extreme bad breath for couple of days?
4. would you recommend Threelac instead of K12?
EDIT: This post is in the wrong thread. Should have gone to "Can anyone confirm the H. Pylori treatment" thread

ok, jc, thank you very much. definitely i will have a try on spirulina.i hope it really works for me.

hopefully it wont takes too long to show results.
thanks succ, i wish to have the probiotic and metronidazole too, but will it causes any side effects? such dry mouth or white coating on the tougue? and where can i get it? can i have it without doctor's guidance?
onewhocares : thanks for sharing and your concern.its sad to know that there are no cure for pnd but somehow i will still keep on trying on any medications that possible. it works for others and it might also works for me. i will try everything i can rather than doing nothing. coz i desperately wanna be freed from bb. regarding the mouthwash, haha, i think i wont have it coz i 'm from asia. but i will keep on doing exercises as what you have mentioned.yes, i already cut down, and avoided dairy foods..feel so sad whenver i saw people out there can have any food they wish..

actually a doc can always prescribe you corticosteroids that you spray in your nose and it keeps nose without producing mucous but every doc will tell you it takes very short time for body to adjust to it and then you're screwed even more than before. Sorry its always bad news lol
