Summary of five years of God's Illumination
Summary of five years of God's Illumination
I feel like my journey to understand the cause of my stale breath has reached a semi-complete picture that makes sense, thanks be to God. Here's what he's shown me over the last five years in the way of summarizing and compiling all that I've written on this site. Post Nasal Congestion and Drip breeds bacteria in the back of my nose, and it is constantly feeding a steady stream of bacteria down into my tonsil crypts (when I still had the tonsils) and into my tongue papillae, where the bacteria multiply like on a petri dish. Havnig my tonsils out was a major help, since the bacteria could no longer mix with food residue in the crypts and rot all day and night! But after getting my tonsils out, the post nasal drip bacteria still breed on my tongue back where the tongue rests near the nasopharynx. A major help with this is benadryl and maybe a decongestant, sinus rinsing, and a unique thing God showed me about brushing my tongue...brushing it in the side-to-side direction in addition to back-to-front. Also, because I have Crohn's and an associated arthrits, it's possible that my salivary flow rate and enzyme/immunoglobulin levels have been affected, which affects my saliva's ability to clean my mouth. What I haven't yet tried, though, is the benadryl and decongestant AT THE SAME TIME as the fantastic side-to-side tonge brushing, which gets all the bacteria out of the tongue. Before I knew about the side-to-side brushing direction, the bacteria weren't getting out of my tongue, and the benadryl dried my saliva up, and so the combination led to worse breath. I do take claritin, but it doesn't do enough to stop the post nasal drip and allergies, and a pharmacist told me that benadryl is way better than all the other antihistimines...I can tell the difference, too. Here's a verse that is very helpful because it shows how God will rescue us from all that is against us when the time is right, if we love and obey Him: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." -1 Corinthians 10:13 If we give up and commit the sin of s*****e, then we are calling God a liar or saying that He doesn't exist...because He has promised that if we turn every area of our lives over to Him and obey Him in every area of life as best we can, repenting and asking His forgiveness in Jesus' Name when we stumble, then He will show us a way to escape from our troubles and stresses. In Christ, Mike
