Just watched the whole thing, and found it utterly fascinating.

I always sense that there has to be a simple lateral way to deal with TMAU (and probably other gut bacteria related systemic odours) . How hard can it be to make a time-released capsule which releases enzymes into the gut that can act like the FMO3 enzyme does in the liver to oxidize the TMA before it gets absorbed into the bloodstream? (Or even FMO3 enzyme itself??)

I'm probably talking simplistic nonsense, but I just can't believe that there isn't something that could be put down into the large intestine that can neutralize the TMA in some way. These researchers are interested in the subject as a whole and how it could probably relate to other more "serious" disorders. If they cured TMAU in a simple way then all their related research would probably all finish too.
