Dentigerous Cyst

Post by Born To Suffer »

I think I have finally found my problem!

Wisdom [Removed]
Tonsil [Removed]
Maxillary Sinus [Cleaned]
BB [Still present with yellow discharge]

So I was looking at an old report, and found something new.

Brief history: Ever since a child, been getting yellow - fishy discharge from upper left quadrant. Turns out I had a few teeth growing in there and isn't coming out through the gums, reason was because I had a cyst.
If a tooth is missing (and has not fallen out), it may be hidden in a dentigerous cyst.
So I had surgery at the age of 14, removed teeth, removed cyst. No more foul discharge.
At 23 had an xray of teeth, found 2 teeth still stuck in the cheeks!! Wtf, the surgeon forgot to take them out or what? Or was it because it was too close to the nerves?
Had surgery, removed the remaining 2 teeth stuck in there, wisdom + molar.
Now the foul yellowish discharge came back after surgery. I think I have a residual cyst, because the surgeon didn't fully remove the teeth.

So my problem is a dentigerous cyst.
A cyst is a sac containing bacterial mass, can occur any where in the body.

And to think I was going to the gastroenterologiyst. Took a full circle around the hospital, now back to maxillo surgeon -_-

THE TRAIL GOES COLD

Back from the maxillofacial surgeon, and not a dam thing. Took some more xrays, NOTHING. Apparently there is no infection what so ever. I felt like crying, my last piece of hope literally flew out of the universe.

No cyst, no infection, nada. Just because technology fails sometimes, the human body does not lie. Yellow discharge isn't normal. Oh goodness.
I feel like there's no more hope. Just got some nasal drops :(

Do you know where the yellow discharge appears from?

(Sorry if you've already mentioned this)

I do try my hardest to follow your story but I get very easily confused

Hey halitosisux,

To be honest I don't really know, if it's from the cheeks, tonsil area, or throat.
But I can honestly say that this is the very same taste I had when I was a child suffering with from a dentigerous cyst.

Right now all I can do is wait, hopefully my saliva will return to normal.
Doing a nasal irrigation helps, everyday I get some more mucus following out, so it really must be in the maxillary sinus or something.

I really appreciate the help, but I guess I just have to come to terms with it, I may never ever be cured...

:(

Has anyone ever analyzed this yellow discharge? It might be a way of at least identifying what the source could be, such as pus or bacterial. If it's bacterial then maybe a strong course of antibiotics which are aimed at whatever bacteria are involved would deal with it?

@halitosisux, oh yea I should have gone to the pathologist, #-o

During the sinus surgery,a pathologist did come in and take samples of the infection. The ENT didn't tell me the results. Just said I had a tumor/abnormalie.

Your mum had did a lot of sinus surgery, but wasn't cured of bb?
I think really the problem lies below the maxillary sinus and above the mouth.
Sort of in the roof of the mouth.

[Update] Just last night I was complaining of a dead trail, I headed to the bathroom, and just out of frustration... I used my neti pot. And what do you know? A jelly like - glob - of black mucus flew out of my nose. At first I thought of blood, but after closely examining it, it was black mucus. Now at least I have something to go on. I think it's my bodies way of telling me that I still have an infection. I highly recommend everyone getting a netipot, best thing since the toothbrush. Cause it really gets down the nasal passage, where all my problems lie.

She had a lot of sinus surgery but her BB never changed. I'm quite sure her BB related purely to having bad teeth/gums/hygiene.

In fact, in the end she had nearly all her teeth out in one go because of CYSTS that kept recurring and needing to have operations on to remove the cysts. Those cysts must have been connected to her rotten teeth. Some were blackened (she was in her 70s at this point). After having all her teeth out she's never had a trace of BB since.

I think her mouth has gone back to being like a babies, losing much of the microbial flora that would have colonized her mouth when her teeth started erupting. Now that her teeth have gone I think her flora has gone back to that of a baby. I wonder if there are any studies into the flora of people without any teeth?

She's no longer suffering with PND. She has very diminished mental capacity now, so it's hard to know, or why she doesn't appear to have PND anymore. Maybe she's just no longer aware of it.

I wish there was more known about BB instead of having to guess and try to solve it all for ourselves. What a ****ing nightmare of a curse this BB is.

@halitosisux, thanks for the feedback. I also believe the residual cyst is causing me problems. Sometimes when I brush I see blood. It's a serious problem is when you can't solve the problem. I don't want to remove all my teeth! Only thing is to stick to my nasal rinses. I don't want to take antibiotics because I really think it does more harm than good. I will trust in the power of the neti pot.
