It Works, Works, Works! No it Doesn't, Doesn't Doesn't!

Post by Susan »

I've read a whole lot here and I have noticed that on the first couple pages of each thread is a beautiful string of posts where people are raving about what is making them better, then the last couple of pages are from other people who all say it doesn't work. After that, the thread ends and it is replaced by another thread that does the same exact same thing. Does anyone else notice this pattern?

Even the most promising threads die a death of utter rejection in the end. I've watched NAC get beaten down, Colosum get beaten down, Panathenic Acid get beaten down--everything is beaten down in the end, which leaves people confused and passing by things that could really help them. BB has many possible causes, so why not find other people who take something you know has helped you and find out what else they take? Their problems might be more compatable to yours.

A string of negative responses is what makes people who have really been helped by a regimen not bother to post it. You think they've just dissapeared because they got themselves healthy and don't care about their unhealthy friends who are still searching for answers, but that usually isn't what happens.

After a lot of research, some people find a product, or go on a personal program that they created after years of struggling, which has helped them tremendously and they are dying to spread the word and guess what happens? The "nothing will ever heal us" brigade comes marching in, bags it up and throws it away. The person with all that experience who wanted to do the right thing feels like the're being invalidated and they give up trying to help and just go on with their new healthy life while people who still need healing are bombarded with the "it doesn't work" posts and miss out on something that could have been amazing for their particular health concerns.

Nay!

Post by Susan »

You are going under the assumption that anyone who is sharing their health improvements is most likely making a false claim that merely masquarades as a miracle cure, while you are honest by claiming it doesn't work. That mentality intrigues me with how counter-productive and self-sabotaging it is. How are going to get healthy if you don't believe squat anyone says, you never take chances, and you never try anything new?

Are you going to deny everything everyone tells you, like in your quote--just because it's out of your comfort zone? Will you not even accept that there is another point of view that might change your opinion? How do you learn anything new? It's absurd and closed minded. What a silly quote. I am not trying to be harsh here, but you are really helping me make the point I was trying to make in my first post.

It is your responsibility to research before you choose to follow the regimin of another person. Don't deny it, or accept it all at once. You have to realize sometimes people's underlying issue can possibly be the same one that caused your problems, other times it is not. Not everything that works for them will work for you. That doesn't mean that it's all in their head. If it doesn't work, move on without invalidating someone's discovery after they have so kindly taken their time out to share with you in hopes that it will make you healthy. They are trying to pay it forward, not manipulate you. That's a huge gift. If you don't care to thank them for going above and beyond, at least give them a break.

As far as I am concerned, if this is truly the rationalization behind slew of "It didn't work for me" posts that bombard a thread after a series of constructive posts, then I won't give the nay sayers any weight at all. Anyway, thank you for enlightening me with your opinion.
