Finally found a cure! Don't believe that there is no cure!

I had bb for 23 years, since I was 20 and diagnosed with IBS and H Pylori by my GP. He put me on antibiotics every few years or so, but stool tests would always come back positive for H Pylori.
Over the years I tried so many different products and a ton a money to relieve my horrible bb. It was so bad it would fill up a room. It not only came out of my mouth, but my nostrils also. I tried Therabreath, Profresh, Breezecare, TriOral, Biotene, Smart Mouth, prescription Chlorhexidine, and countless others, NOTHING WORKED! I finally discovered Breath RX with a few drops of OraMd would work to keep my mouth fresh, but in about 2 hours my bb would be back, bad as ever.
I FOUND A CURE BY ACCIDENT. I was fed up with my GP not addressing my IBS, so I went to a gastroenterologist. I found out so many years after my first diagnosis, that I was still testing positive for H Pylori, and not only that, but I had SIBO too. He told me H Pylori would be colonized in my gut unless I eradicated it. I told him I tried before, but he said my GP had it all wrong. I needed to take triple-therapy to eradicate the H Pylori for good. I took aciphex, Flagyl, Amoxicillan and Biaxin for 14 days. It helped my bb a great deal, but I still had it, even though I was testing negative for H Pylori later. So the gastroenterologist said we needed to eradicate the SIBO, which I still had. I was put on Rifaximin for 10 days and my bb TOTALLY DISAPPEARED! I was so happy, but then after a few weeks the bb came back, bad as ever. The gastroenterologist said it would be okay to do another course of Rifaximin, because this is one antibiotic that we can't develop a resistance to, as it stays in the intestines only. I took it again for 14 days and it the bb hasn't come back since! What was causing the horrible BB was h pylori and SIBO. Now I test negative for both and my bb is normal!
Treating BB and not addressing the root cause will not cure you. There are so many illnesses that can cause BB. Although H Pylori and SIBO don't always cause BB, In my case it sure did. Look up the symptoms of both diseases and if you have them, get to a gastroenterologist for a cure! Don't bother with the GP, they usually don't know much about SIBO. Both diseases need a breath test to diagnose both properly, and GPs still use stool samples which don't always detect the H Pylori or the SIBO. You could be carrying H Pylori for many years and not even know, like I did.

ATTENTION; THIS WOMAN IS A SPAMMER, SHE IS SPAMMING SAME STUFF IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT POSTS, i AM NOT SURE IF SHE IS EVEN A WOMAN. SHE IS RELIEVED FROM POSTING HERE.

how did your gastro doctor diagnose your condition? did you have an endoscopy?

And also I tested negative for H Pylori via stool test.

I have an endoscopy in 6 long weeks.

I was diagnosed with a breath test for both SIBO and H Pylori. Your doc should put you on antibiotics right away, and the CORRECT ones. H Pylori is tricky to cure, and I hear that some people need more than one course to cure it. If you don't want to wait or you feel nervous about taking so many antibiotics, I read an article in the New England Journal of Medicine that Mastic Gum will cure it, but I have also read in other articles in could be harmful, it's up to you. :)

Hi what is SIBO? How can this be tested by breath test?
I don't quite believe in antibiotics, usually they work for very short time.
But anyway, hope you can keep us updated.

My stool tests for H Pylori were negative after two doses of triple therapy antibiotics. I will talk to my GI about SIBO during my next visit. Thank you for the post. You kept my hopes alive.

@sharon: SIBO is Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth. It cannot be detected through a stool sample, the only way to diagnose it is through a breath test. My GP doctor didn't even know what SIBO was, or even what a breath test was. I had to get diagnosed through my gastroenterologist.

@happylife: Stool test don't accurately show H Pylori either. The only sure way to make sure you have H Pylori or not is through a breath test or a endoscopy. My gastroenterologist told me he has seen H Pylori become more and more resistant to triple therapy treatment. I suggest Rifaximin since it is not possible to develop a resistance to, and it will kill both SIBO and H Pylori. Good luck!

Diandra, what dosage of rifaximin did you take and for how many days? And did you also have BO or just bb?

Do you suggest we take Rifaximin only?

or should we take all 4 antibiotics you listed?

I just spent over $300 on a 14 day supply of rifaxmin it BETTER work for those prices. Wow!

I wanted to wait on more feedback from the op before placing this order but shipping is 12-18 biz days and my b-day is next month plus I'm suppose to be visiting NY so I definitely need to try something to get rid of this funk! Worse case scenario is I need another around and funk comes back 10 fold while in NY visiting my love. :oops:

@shit4breath where did you order the rifaximin from and did they require a prescription? I want to try it but I live in Toronto and they don't sell it in Canada.

You need to be extra careful when buying such meds online and without consulting a specialist about it. Apparently it's a very strong antibiotic and is mainly used as an add-on therapy for Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE). I realise that we're all so desperate here to get a rapid and instant cure but messing with such meds can be harmful. Anyways, good luck and I hope it will cure you. Keep us updated with your progress.

@rikki
I ordered online without a rx from goldpharma.com which is an England based pharmacy. There pretty expensive but they are legit compared to Indian and Asian fake meds.

@Sadmum
Thanks for the heads up...I know the risk but at the moment the reward out weighs the risk. To be honest, I'd rather die trying than live with bb for the rest of my non-existing life. I know that may sound silly but just being completely honest. I will update with results when I'm complete.
