I’ve tried pretty much everything now and I’m really beginning to think there is no hope. Watching everyday go by and people covering their noses when I speak at work even when I’m not talking I seem to offend people which makes me think is it now coming from my nose. Over the past year this has been my hell who knew you could develop bad breath at such a late stage of life in 26.
I’ve been tested for h ployri - negative
Been to the fresh breath clinic in london / where I quote I was told it’s bad but not that bad at told 3 visits to the hygienist would sort me with a good dental routine - after paying a lot and seeing the kind hygienist there she said my hygiene routine was perfect bleed score down and she was really at a loss she said I didn’t need to come back but the reactions persist.
Anyway been to see an ENT who sent me away didn’t even let me do a CT scan which I found weird as I do notice I sleep with my mouth open
Had an upper laposcopy (gastroenterologist) - negative
SIBO - negative
Low iron and low vitamin d - positive
I’ve tried every mouthwash on the market, tung gel, zinc tablets nothing seems to work. This is seriously debilitating as I surely can’t go through life as a mute it’s not a good quality of life at all making others around me constantly sick.
I have no idea what my breath even smells like but it’s got to be bad - I can’t smell a thing and as usual family don’t notice it prehaps because I now isolate myself.
Any tips will be appreciated I’m thinking of going for a second opinion at the London cosmetic dentistry office who claim to specialise in halitosis - I will update you all once I’ve seen them at the moment I cry pretty much every day

What's the smell? Where is it coming from? What was the trigger event that you think caused it?
For type 1 sufferers, bad breath is mostly caused by overgrowths of sulphur-reducing bacteria within your microbiome. You should spend more time focusing your attention on these overgrowths if you want to find your permanent cure.

I have no idea what the smell is like I’ve done the lick test and can’t smell much - my guess from reactions feceal maybe? I have very bad coating on my tongue which semi goes away in the morning but comes back during the day no matter if I scrape my tongue or not. I don’t remember a trigger but until maybe a year or two ago I could smell if my breath was abit stale and chewing gum would sort me out but now it appears to be a constant smell. I’m convinced it’s coming from the back of my tongue

Do you have any symptoms aside? Bloating / mucus?
When the bad breath is not coming from your teeth you should at least have a few more symptoms....
Try lessn your protein / carbs intake and and take a stool analysis + check your pancreas mybe - and also let check your tonsils and nose detailed.
Also use a tongue brush or mybe a harder toothbrush and cut a bit of the bristle off - brushing your tongue brings better results than scraping
Good luck

Instead of doing the lick test can you use your fingers and scrape the back of your tongue when you think you have bad breath and smell it? Then come back and tell us.Lastchance91 wrote:I have no idea what the smell is like I’ve done the lick test and can’t smell much - my guess from reactions feceal maybe?
