Visit to a ¨Mouth specialist¨ doctor

So, last week the allergist didn´t found nothing wrong with me, so he told me to go to see a ¨mouth specialist¨doctor, it´s not an ENT, it´s like between a dentist and an ENT. This kind of doctor is only related to the mouth but in a ¨more medicine¨ way than a dentist......

anyway,
i arrived to a little department, in what they were builded three doctor´s offices. The construction was very cheap, in a way that is very normal were i live by this days: the walls of the offices don´t reach to the roof, so when you wait for your turn you can hear all the patients in their consult.

while i was waiting i thinked ¨not only he probably won´t give me any solution, but that also all the people here gonna hear about my halithosis...¨

But i had allrready take the efford to go to there, and for piece of mind i decided to do it anyway...

So i talked to the guy straight and clear, without any defensive method, he was 50cm from me. I explained that i had studied this problem very much for many time, that i had went to many ent´s, dentists, and some of them confirmed my problem and some not. I told him too that an allergist send me to him, and i didn´t had allergies, but pnd.

He was very understanding, he heard all i was got to say, he was like ¨in the same tune¨ with me. He told me that many people go to see him by this problem and they usually are the healthiest people, but they got bb anyway and no one knows why. That´s my case too.Told me too that my mouth higiene was perfect and it was an example for the kids and bla bla bla... He recognize me that he smelled some ¨anaerobic smell¨ he said, but there´s no cure....I told him too that i got my palatine tonsils lasered, but he wasn´t too familiar to that....
He told me that bb, like many other things, has his ups and his downs, and told me to use clorexidine mouthwash twice a day gargling very deep to clean my tonsils, and ¨i should be quite fine...¨, but i will keep on smartmouth.
The irony there was that i´m sure that during this consultant he had more bb than me, what i ofcourse don´t told him.

When i was out of his office, he joined me to the waiting office, and i had to fill some papers, and i felt like all the people were looking at me like with pity. They all heard the conversation.... but for the first time that i got to a doctor....I just don´t give a ***k, i was almost not in shame...¨..what can i do?..¨ I thinked, i got a problem and i´m here to try to solve it.

Another thing that he focussed is one thing that i´ve been talking with my mother too: (she´s psycologist, but she don´t smell my bb cause i always keep distance). I will try to start to see a psycologist cause there´s a big side of this problem that is psycological. We, in some cases, give this whole thing too much importance, and this problem for now is not gonna change for the must of us, cause there´s not cure. So all that we can do is take it more easy. Like this doctor, he was talking too me about halithosis with his job and his office and his family, and a normal life, and he got more bb than me!!!
but i´m thinking in mine 24/7......

i guess this is all i can told you guys about this visit.....hope could be helpfull to someone....

This is very interesting. I`ve never heard of a mouth specialist.

Did he really have BB? :D

I don`t agree that there`s no cure. It`s just that it`s not the same one for everybody. Additionally people are just not very informed. And of course medicine is not very aware of our problem - if only they studied it a little more, the cure won`t be hard to find.

So his job is to tell every chronic halitosis patient he treats, that there ain't no cure. Very interesting...Btw er, how can you tell that your bb is better than his?

cause i think i´m more avaliable to smell my own breath that some of the others members here.
I can smell it, but what is hard for me is to know how bad is it at certain moment or what is the safe distance....

But if i got really bb i just know it. I smell it and I taste it.
For me the most difficult thing to do is establish if there is certain times where i don´t have bb at all, and that makes my confidence go down.

i've been in the same situation. i went to see a dentist who supposedly specialized in helping people with bb. turns out he had no tools to do so, yellow nasty teeth, and potent stale smelling breath. incredible what people try to sell you these days.
