Carnivore diet -- improvements, will be my "cure"

Hope everyone is doing okay given the circumstances. I made a post yesterday explaining my symptoms, backstory and the improvements I have made over the last few months. I am by no means cured, just on the way there. I don't even think "cured" is a reasonable word to use. It makes it seem like this problem will be instantly gone, but it definitely will not be. One thing I mention in that post is the carnivore diet. I have a lot to say about it so I figured I'd make a separate post when I had the time, as I think it is the MOST important part of the changes I have made.

The carnivore diet is essentially eating ONLY things that are derived from an animal -- meat, organs, milk/cheese (this is questionable for us. I find it makes my symptoms worse because of the lactose), eggs. It sounds horrible and scary but just stay with me haha.

I was first introduced to the carnivore diet through a vegan youtuber YEARS ago. She had lots of health issues and decided to go from veganism to carnivore and of course it caused a lot of drama. I didn't judge her for it but did think it seemed kind of absurd and unnecessary. I didn't think much of it.

Then, years later I came across this post on the badbreathhalitosis forum:

They claimed that eating the "lion diet"-- which is essentially carnivore with ONLY beef, water and salt -- cured their bb. My first thought was... "not a cure if you have to eat that way forever". Second thought was "that is NOT sustainable". And third was "that way of life seems HORRIBLE". I found it interesting but I dismissed it.

Fast forward to this year, when I realized candida was the main culprit for me. On the candida subreddit someone made a comment essentially claiming that the fastest way to heal was the carnivore diet. I looked into it more and the more I read and listened to peoples testimonies the more interested I became.

Essentially, high fat and high meat diets are incorrectly linked with things like heart disease, cancer and weight gain. In reality, the people on carnivore diet experience complete healing of a number of things: cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, acne, psoriasis, WHITE TONGUE, gut issues etc. etc. They claim that if we look back at our earliest ancestors, they ate large amounts of meat, then fasted. They would repeat this and eat berries every once in a while. They were not eating grains, herbs, vegetables. All these contain things like anti-nutrients and oxalates that are or can be harmful to the body. I KNOW it sounds kind of bonkers and goes against everything you've ever learned. I suggest going on youtube and listening to some testimonies. They are very powerful. Especially Mikhaila Peterson, who basically created the "lion diet".

The most important part of carnivore for US, is the ability to sustain ourselves with a no sugar and no carb diet. When you eat carnivore for a few months, your body eventually adapts to a no carb diet and receives ALL of its energy from FAT. Your diet should be MAJORITY fat, but at least 50% fat 50% protein. This allows you to live healthily and energetically without feeding the bad bacteria you got going on in your mouth and gut. I have accepted that I am living with a colony INFECTION in my body. Everything that goes in my mouth should either not feed it or KILL it. Carnivore makes this possible. You also stop craving sugar and carbs. Your body is quite literally addicted to them. When you cut them out COMPLETELY, it is much much easier to stick to a restrictive diet like this. Even just a little bit of fruit or occasional carb keeps your body craving them.

Before carnivore, I had spent about 9 months trying to fix my gut health. I was focusing on eating ONLY whole foods, and incorporating as MANY plant foods as I could in order to increase gut microbiome diversity. If I am being honest, this DID help with my constipation and did make the coating on my tongue easier to scrape off. However, it did not make the problem go away completely. It was also not sustainable. My body was relying on carbs but I was barely eating any. There would be days my blood sugar was so ****ing low I'd feel sick and dizzy and have to CRAWL to my pantry in order to grab a spoon full of honey. Yes, CRAWL like a baby. I was not eating enough because I was so terrified to eat potatoes or rice because I knew it would make me feel worse. I lived off of salads and fruit because as an ex-vegan, I didn't ENJOY meat.

Fast forward to 2 months into carnivore and actually learning how to cook meat: I have the most energy I have ever had in my life. My mental health has done a complete 180 (this one is BIG and is why I plan to continue this diet even past bb going away). I used to have depression and OCD. I used to feel like there was no hope. My journal entries on sugar are depressing and dark. My journal entries on carnivore are full of hope and manifestation and self love. My acne COMPLETELY cleared up. My skin is softer than it used to be. I'm starting to feel like I look younger. My friends say my skin is glowing, and that I seem happier. PND? GONE. This one is truly life changing. My hair no longer gets greasy. It feels so soft and is growing really fast. I'm not even working out regularly but my body looks the best it it ever has in my LIFE. I don't bloat at all --ever. My stomach is completely flat. Couldn't say that since I was 15. But most importantly, the bad taste, bad breath and tongue are clearing up. I no longer crave bread or sugar (of course I think about how they taste good and wish I could have them but I don't ever feel the NEED to eat them). Food has no power over me any more (except for the occasional coffee with cream that I get that immediately makes me feel a little bit worse). This is FREEDOM. I feel full and satisfied and enjoy my meals. If this was the only way to be bb free for the rest of my life, I would be able to do it because it is worth it.

If your issue is related to allergies, food intolerances, bacterial imbalance or fungal infection then Carnivore Diet is probably the easiest and fastest way to alleviate symptoms. If you try, just make sure you do your research first. Love y'all.
