Bad Breath Halitosis Forum

Ok so i was reading some information about tmau here and in some other web sites and i raed that you can have a form of tmau where only your breath smells. Your breath doesnt have to smell like fish it can also smell like different kinds of foul odors including poop like smell. After trying everything Im giving TMAU a chance of being the reason of me having this poop breath.

A couple months ago after alrady being aware of having the poop breath I started noticing a strong foul odor coming from my urine. I went to a regular doctor told about the prroblem and asked her if it could be some kind of urine infection. She asked me some questions and then took some pee somple of me. She told me she would call me back if somthing was wrong with my urine but she said that she thought i was find and that i nedded to drink more water because my urine was a little dark. I never got a call that meaning nothing came out wrong with my tests. I still smell the foul urine smell but not as bad as before. Now the interesting thing is that when i got my urine tests I was on a diet to treat acid reflux that i used to think was the reason for my poop breath. This diet would include lots of fhish. How is this intresting you might ask, well i was just reading that fish is high in chloline and eating foods with high amounts of chloline is what makes the odor worst.

My breath is always poop like smell but I remember onces I went to a Splish Splash (wich is a water park)and the mixture of my breath with chlorine smell from the water would smell like a fishy kind amoniac smell

Do you thing TMAU could be a reason for your bad breath??

Have you had a ENT check your tonsils and nose for stones and polyps or sinus infection? Allergies?? Have you had your tonsils removed? How about adenoids? Has a dentist completely checked your mouth and says that its completely fine with no cavities or gum infection? Are all of your teeth fine? Old metal fillings? If not then you have to check all of these basics and get cleared before thinking you have one of the most severe issues like TMAU.

I think is extremely rare that anyone has this and believe that you have to eliminate lots of other possiblities or you are just trying a needle in the haystack approach. you have to methodically eliminate your body parts one at a time starting with the most obvious like mouth and nose and throat. Until you do this you will be searching for a solution in the wrong place.

You may have to go to 2 dentists to get your mouth completely cleared so that its not the problem. I personally had 2 years of work on my mouth before I could know for a fact that my dental hygiene was not the problem. Now I see the dentist 3 times a year for cleanings and if anything is wrong they immediately take care of it. It takes a while to stabilized your mouth if you have problems in there. Just somethings to think about beofre you go to the extremes.

I hate to think oF TAMU as a reason for my BB but yeah I have done all those things you mention and they all come out ethier fine or negative. I even had the krespy lazer treatment.

How about colon cleanse? Do you have IBS or other digestive issues? Have you tried strict diets?

TMAU is definitely a possibility. Didnt know you had checked all of those things. I am not that informed about it other than the generic knowledge. I have heard there are tests you can have for that. you may want to ask your doctor or google it for clinics in your area that treat or test for it.

Do you have any people in your family with bb or some of the same issues you have medically? This is so fustrating that there is something like this that you cant get help with easily.

I had the same case with my urine, I had seen a gastro due to my search for bb cause and had an ultrasound which they found a big stone occupying most of my kidney. I've read that kidney stones can make your breath amonia like smell. So a Urologist suggest I should have it taken off soon.

So far I have seen dentis, ENT's, gastro and urologist for my bb but nothing has been found out as the real cause. Now I am going back to ENT as I have polyps that hinders the mucos coming from my nose.

no my tonsils have not been removed but every time I went to the ent office they said every thing was fine with them and that they were really small, I also got an endoscopy done and it came out fine, i was on a strict diet for near a year and it kind of made it worst.

I haven't tryed colon cleanse, looking foward to try it, but for what i read about tmau is a real posibility

wow! interesting, so you have a big stone in your kidney? did you get surgery for it or are you getting it soon? is your breath like poop or fart? if so did your doctors tell you that could be the reason for it? I also had an ultrasound done in my stomach before getting and endoscopy, but the ultrasound came out fine they didnt see anything, still im not sure wether they only looked at my stomach or if they looked at my kidneys too.
