ok, so anyone who read like the one post i've made it was about me not knowing if i'm halitophoic or if i actually have bad breath. well, i dont think i'm crzy. well i am but whatever. anyway i went to the bank without gum one day and the lady scratched next to her nose when i spoke then when i sat in her office she immediately placed her hand under her nose while looking at me while i spoke. maybe i misread her reactions, but i had a nasty taste in my mouth, as usual when i dont chew gum, so i'm pretty sure i was blasting her with some narsty shite. anyway, that was unkewl.
so. i post this because it is premature. maybe i'm wrong, but i have noticed a difference. i was reading searching's thread about how she was helped with an oral irrigation device with a water/peroxide mix. i decided i had nothing to lose so i went to walmart and got myself a waterpik. i got the cheap one and i dont know, maybe the more expensive one has it too, but i'[m glad i got the one i did becasue it came with a tongue scraper attachment where it shoots water out the end with a scraper below that and a brush attachement that shoots water out of the middle of the brush. I think this has helped me A LOT. it's been 3 days since then today and it is by no means perfect... yet....hopefully.But that rotting taste in my mouth has pretty much gone away¡K for the most part so far. Like, the first day I got soooo happy because of how different my mouth felt. I decided to delay celebration because it might be too early to tell. The next day, I was pissed. After using the oral irrigator on my tongue and teeth and doing a nasal irrigation with water and peroxide with it, the rot taste came back after a while and wouldn¡¦t go away if I wasn¡¦t chewing gum or drinking water constantly.
Sucks!!! But wait! I decided to go at it again that day and the rest of the day was pretty ok I feel.
Today, I had to act in a student film¡K eek! I was talking close to people for 4 hours and no one made any poor reactions. Heres the thing though¡K I pretty much constantly kept a small piece of gum hidden in my mouth the whole time and I came prepared with a bottle of peroxide wash and water. I used the peroxide wash twice while waiting for the shoot to start. I don¡¦t know if this is just my halitophobia going full blown of if I had really needed it. I¡¦m too scared still to go without. But the thing that remains is as of today, like the first day my mouth doesn¡¦t feel nasty as hell only a little bit after brushing or using mouthwash or chewing gum. I know there is a difference in the taste in my mouth. Later this evening after dinner, I felt my mouth go bad again, but just brushing and then chewing a piece of gum solved that and my mouth feels ok now about an hour and a half later without using gum or anything.
Also I am a smoker¡K like an idiot! I¡¦m commited to quitting though¡K I hope. I KNOW my situation will improve so much when/if I quit. I need support though I think. ƒ¼ eiiy¡K anyway. Where was i. sorry if this is disjointed.
Ok so¡K I am almost 100% sure that my bad breath is caused by a combo of pnd and smoking, plus a history of poor oral hygiene for 5 years while I was an active junkie¡K smoking is my last vice. But it¡¦s the one that¡¦s really f¡¦ing with me now due to bad breath and just hating it.. ugh. Anyway I think my pnd was worsened by putting drugs in my nose (not to mention every other way possible) for so long, plus smoking. I think if I can quit smoking I can get pnd under control
But ok flashfoward back to now. This new system I am using is the only thing in like 4 years that I have felt a difference in my mouth with for a significant period of time.
What I am doing:
Flossing really good
Brushing with colgate total which has triclosan
Using the oral irrigator on my teeth with about 1/3 peroxide and the rest warm water
Using the oral irrigator on my tongue with the tongue scrape attachment and/or brush attachment wit hthe same solution
That is my morning routine and I also brush and flosh after eating if I can.
Doing this and doing a few extra washes with the irrigator in the last few days has made this change, however slight at the moment but the big news is that the color of my tongue is changing. About 2 inches back from the tip it was thick and yellowish and stuff and now it still is but only a little bit after 3 days. I hope to have it toally pink. This probably wont happen if I don¡¦t relieve some pnd by quitting smoking
Thanks to searching for posting the thread about oral irrigation. Ok this is long. I guess. Does anyone have any advice for advancing this regimen? Is there something I may need to know about pnd and clearing mucus that could help me? Please share all your tips or tricks for helping nasal drainage.
I think this is promising and will keep everyone updated and hope this helps someone. I really just want it to help someone which is why im posting it preemptively. Maybe we can go on this journey together.
Also: afte reading through a lot of your experiences. I don¡¦t think my bad breath is as chronic as others here. I don¡¦t have nose smell and I can cover it up well with gum for about 45 minutes (orbit or other long lasting brand) I hear some of you don¡¦t have that option and I feel for you so much.
