bad episode

Post by loveshy365 »

i was due at the doctors today to discuss my problem only i couldn't make it that far i got my mum to tag along for a bit of emotional support only she now thinks im crazy. i was alright til about 2o mins of sitting down but every cough was making me increasingly agitated. it started to get busy, my anxiety kept building and building until.............i stand up in the middle of reception and pelted out "come on we have to go i can't stay" almost ready to leave my mum embarrassed and around all these strangers, im truly a first class loser.
This appointment was only marked in two days ago as an emergency i doubt they'll even see me now even if i could face them.

Hi loveshy365

I know where you're coming from when it comes to being anxious around people who start coughing or sneezing. Please don't give up and don't feel too bad about wanting to leave your doctors. Take your time with getting to your appointment with your doctor. It would be good to get some info from the internet concerning BB to show to your doctor because many assume that it is a hygiene issue.

You don't know how lucky you are to have a mother. Some people like me have to battle this problem alone with family members who laugh at you when they get the chance. Maybe you can show your mother this forum and if she is interested in your health she would realise that it is not all in your head. I think doctors sometimes take the easy way out when they are confronted with a problem like ours and have no answers but to conclude that it must be a mental issue.

What I have realised is that not everyone will feel empathy for us with this issue, but there are many people who do and who are willing to sacrifice their time just to help you in many ways, whether medical or emotional. This condition can change people's lives in different ways, some will become reclusive and others will just carry on with life as best they can. Please try and get another appointment because this is a medical issue and you need medical help to sort it out, just by you being so anxious about it shows that it is affecting your life.

Take care

Even if you see the doctor they are going to tell you that everything is normal. They pretend like bb doesn't exist or something. Why the f is it so embarressing to talk about? Even with a doctor? I give up.
