I'm having my wisdom teeth removed also in about 12 hours from now. Dont know if it will help, but there is one wisdom tooth which isnt grown that well so that might be the cause?Half is still inside the gum and the other half is out. (but highly doubt it, seems to good to be true lol) , 2 other wisdom teeth are fine my dentist said, and another one isnt out yet. So what do u guys think, should i remove the 3 other also or only the one that looks as it's the cause?
Also, I always have this feeling asif something is stuck inside my throat, and no matter how much I cough, it doesnt go away. It only happens at the end of the day. I use halita at the moment. Did it twice a day in the beginning but now only in the mornings.. It helps, but only for 2 hours or sth. BUt if I dont use it at all, i have a weird taste in my mouth, especially after eating.
Ah well, lets wait and see what happens after the wisdom tooth extraction. I'll keep u guys updated.
so long for now

Wisdom Tooth as a possible cause O.o?
I'll probably have the one that is half grown extracted first, then see if that helps with the BB problem.Lifesucks89 wrote:I'm having my wisdom teeth removed also in about 12 hours from now. I also never thought that my wisdom tooth caused the problem, but since I had it extracted, my mouth seems cleaner, and I don't have that bad taste anymore.
My dentist said that my sinus is just 2 mm away from the root of my wisdom tooth. That may explain also the bad smell coming from my nose, since rotten food stuck inside the gum opening can easily travel to the sinus.
The logic of why you would remove only one or more wisdom teeth but not all four (unless it's much more additional expense) is completely beyond me to comprehend, even if not all are impacted.Lifesucks89 wrote:So what do u guys think, should i remove the 3 other also or only the one that looks as it's the cause?
If you're ruling out wisdom teeth as the cause of your bad breath you need full certainty, and you can't have that without removing all four. Wisdom teeth are extra teeth anyway. We don't need any of the four, so why not extract all four?
I should also add that the sockets, depending on your age and health, can take anywhere from two to six full months or more to fully seal up and for your gums and mouth to return to fully normal form. If the odor was caused by bacteria trapped in pockets and flaps around these teeth, you will feel tremendous relief soon after extracting, but you won't be completely in the clear from smaller, occasional relapses as your gums remold themselves during the whole healing time. Why spend several months waiting for complete, permanent relief only to wonder at the end of that period, if you don't get it, if it could be one of the other teeth and have to repeat that whole tortorous cycle once or more again?

As a final general note, it's been an true learning experience reading up and down this forum. I was naive to think that everybody was in the same boat, but the fact is that there's a wide range of sufferers on this forum, from those that barely have any problem to those that have the real deal, and from those who can live well with this problem to the downright suicidal. But for at least half here, as unbelievable as it sounds, the problem is just as much that they mentally don't want to get better as much as it is that they physically haven't found the cure yet.
It's took awhile, but I'm at the point where I refuse to let this issue conquer every aspect of my life. I know my breath stinks.... fine. Whining and stressing about it isn't going to bring on a cure, so I'd rather deal with it and be happy. In that sense, mentally I am much better these days. A bit of practice, and it gets easier to ignore the "reminders" that I have BB. I don't let every encounter drive me into depression. I don't get stressed. I go to the park, lay in the sun, think about what I have and try to appreciate it for what it is.Cured wrote:as unbelievable as it sounds, the problem is just as much that they mentally don't want to get better as much as it is that they physically haven't found the cure yet.
It's like, you have BB. OK. Now just HOW are you going to deal with it, even if there's never going to be a cure in your life. Chuck everything else, and be miserable? Not me, not anymore.
So, that's my take on "mentally getting better". Someone by the tag of "Laura" tried to explain this to me when I first signed up for this board. Years later, I finally understand. She was right.
