CURED FECAL AND ACID BAD BREATH WHILE SUFFERING W/REFLUX
I struggled with both fecal and acid bad breath. I had impeccable oral hygeine as many of us do so I realized this was more of a metabolic condition. I tried everything and I mean everything - colostrum, probiotics, oregano oil, grapefruit seed extract, charcoal, etc....
Here's the thing, I have always had a slightly enlarged thyroid, meaning I was slightly deficient in Iodine. Iodine is a necessary mineral needed in the body, is a natural antibacterial, and I was definitely deficient. (Test your deficiency by buying colored iodine in the local drug store, place some on your wrist and if the color does not disappear within a few hours, you are deficient). The thyroid gland also regulates metabolism and hormones.
I began taking Iodoral, an iodine supplement, twice a day for two weeks and BAD BREATH and DRY MOUTH were gone. I used to stick my finger down my throat and smell funk even directly after brushing and gargling, now I smell NOTHING after eating candy or dinner.
I'm assuming you can use any iodine to supplement your needs but I encourage you to look into this great mineral which helped me. I also drink water with salt water because salt is a natural antibacterial.
I still take Culturelle probiotic on and off but it was definitely the increase in iodine.
I also have silent reflux and coughed up sticky phlem which an ENT showed was covering my vocal cords and esophogus. I take Betaine HCL with meals and now I still cough up some mucus, but IT DOESNT SMELL. I'm guessing the oregano oil, H2O2 and all other things killed the fecal bad breath.
Good luck all and let me know if iodine supplementation helps you.

I'm sorry, I should clarify. My problem with bad breath began in 2001 when I woke up one morning with an extremely dry mouth and tongue after an illness and the bad breath followed. I tried all of the other products on and off over the last 6 years. Up until two weeks ago, I had fecal and acid bad breath and bad taste in my mouth. When I started the Iodoral two weeks ago, my mouth was wet, even upon waking up in the morning and did not dry out during the day. I check the back of my throat with my finger, let it dry and smell it and there is NO ODOR.
I just started to take the culturelle and Betain HCL this week because of my laryngopharyngeal reflux and digestive issues.
The reason I think the bad breath is metabolic, and in my case lack of iodine, is because we all brush our teeth and clean our mouths and not all of us have reflux, and there are plenty of people with reflux and sinus problems without bad breath.

I just googled "iodine deficiency symptoms" and i don't have any of the symptoms listed. The main one is Goiter http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&f ... a=N&tab=wi
Nowhere does it say anything about bb, white tongue, pnd, blocked nostril, etc.
How do you know for sure that iodine is the product helping you? You're talking so many products.

Seems like lately I have to take everything at this board with a 'grain of salt'...
"BAD BREATH and DRY MOUTH were gone"
really. That simple eh?
Guys lets please stop making these breakthrough declarations that your BB was cured. It's misleading, and you may be influencing others to try stuff that may not be in their best interest for their health.

Hi Elliot,
I so agree with you.
So many new members daily joining and saying they are cured.
Try this, try that, try what.
I am so confused that my head is spinning.
Then there are those who say they are cured then the BB comes back then cured again and then people still back away when they talk.
People make up your mind.
I am really really really confused.
FRANKLY I AM STARTING NOT TO BELIEVE ANY OF THESE POST.

Hey guys I think what we need to remember is that people are just sharing their experiences in hopes that this will help others. If we discourage this, people will not post and we will not learn from them. I think we have to keep an open mind, then do our own research and then make an educated decision on what to do for ourselves. No one here knows what the answers is, but most do know their own body and what helps them. I understand everyone's frustration, but please encourage posting, not discourage. It helps all of us to brainstorm and put our ideas and actions out there for others.
girlie girl,
I dont mean to discourage anyone. BUT be honest. It all seems abit overwhelming sometimes when you read take this, take that but there is no definate proof that individual is 100% cured.
So maybe what would be better is if people would say they have found a way to control the bad breath instead of saying they are cured when they still get reactions from people daily.
By all means post what you have been taking and how it has worked for you. It just might help someone.
BUT bear in mind that people on this forum with bad breath have lived a miserable existence so far hoping and praying for a cure. WE HAVE BECOME SO DESPERATE. EASILY TOSSED TO AND FRO BY THE LATEST IDEA.
I remember someone posting on here using soap to wash out mouth. Now I dont know if it was a joke by a prankster or what. And yes people could possibly play games with our minds and mess us up even more because we have become so desperate. LOL.
So people if you have found a way to control your bad breath then please tell us. Just dont build up false hopes by saying Cured if you are still not sure. That is all I am saying.
Everyone has a right to be heard. I dont want to discourage people.

Iode deficiency is an intersting point.
What we're trying to do here on this forum is to bring pieces of puzzle together.
Here we get suggestions of what may cause BB,so we can eventually test for that, cuase our doctors are primitive in terms of H and we need to furnish them a great deal of information. It's a pity, but that's reality.
I believe that we need to be proper tested and diagnosed.
STOP GUESSES.I

Hey people,
I just realised that the table salt that I have been using for 3 years or so does not contain iodine. I am in Britain. I went out and bought some iodine salt. I also checked my multivitamin and it has iodine on it.
Not all salt in Britain are iodised salt, only if it states it on the package. I cant believe that I have been eating all these salt without iodine for so many years.
What you think?
