Hi Drastic and Snobuni,
It sounds like for you guys that even after brushing the tongue and scraping it, the white coating remains?
From my little reading so far, the white coating is the main cause of bb for most people, and if your coating remains that could be the real source of your problem.
Have you tried the breezecare range? Its a bit expensive, but thus far, its the only thing that consistently removes the white coating for me, so worth the price. I have noticed a decreasing effectiveness (people touching the nose and what not), but it just means I have to brush my tongue harder and longer and more often (3x a day now). It used to bleed a biti but not anymore.
fyi i brush my tongue with the gel, scrape, wash with the balance rinse and brush the tognue again...it usually leaves my tongue fairly pink, at least for a good few hours
edit: i also wanted to say that apparently, the breezecare stuff is not as harsh as the CHLORHEXIDINE mouthwash

Hey Never Bn Kissed,
I think my bb is definately coming from my tongue coating, but then isn't this coating just a symptom of another problem (lack of good bacteria in stomach/mouth, poor digestion, yeat infection, etc)? I've tried all the different types of gels, rinses and toothpastes over the years. If Breezecare is just chlorhexidine, how will that be any better than the corsodyl I'm using just now (Corsodyl is also very cheap)!!!
I did notice last night that my bb was the worst it's ever been, I could still smell it even when I was eating and just after, it's NEVER been like that before. But then before I went to bed, I rinsed with corsodyl and the smell was instantly so much better.

Guys,
I think the key is to use things in combination - stack up the benefits from all of them, cause our mouths are just so retarded that it needs to be fought from all angles.
So i think you need to brush and scrape the tongue to remove as much as you can of the coating, then the chlorhexidine to act as a bomb blast to the remaining bacteria, then populate with k12 to put up a good (albeit very temporary) fight against the bad bacteria living in the throat and nose. I think its only by doing this and removing as much as possible and then using the k12 as another level of "attack" that we could stand temporary relief

My tongue is white because of pnd. When i brush with a tongue scraper alot of sticky mucus comes off.
Now i only need to figure out where it comes from.
Prey

Prey,
I don't know if I have PND. I don't have a stuffed up nose all the time or loads of mucus up my nose, but I do have a deviated septum and I have a blocked nostril if I don't use a steroid nasal spray. I have thick saliva though, and my ENT said I have an extremely dry mouth. Nothing I do helps with increasing saliva though, I drink 2-3 litres of water a day, suck on sugar free sweets or ice cubes and use artificial saliva, but it doesn't make much difference.

When did this thick saliva thing start for you? Is it a side-effect of medication, or has this been going on for long? My saliva is very glue-like and it's been like that for a long time...
Humans have two types of saliva: serous (thin & runny) and mucous (thicker, stickier), which come from different glands...

Serous saliva comes mainly from Parotid glands - maybe we have a problem with those?
Also, during anxiety and stress, the saliva becomes less serous - and this is what is felt as a drier mouth.
