lol thanx April..
its an amazing coincidence that you gave me that compliment, because when i replied to you earlier i wanted to say how much i like your name, and i even typed it out, but then i changed my mind
Anyway, back to the h pylori.. if your tests prove you have it, then you'll want to eradicate it. Some of us are currently researching and looking into using the same treatment for HP along with eradication of common sinus bacterial infections and hopefully making sure that oral flora which takes residence from then on is of the favourable variety, with meticulous hygiene and use of selected probiotics.
We might be lucky, and we wont know unless we try it. We dont know of anyone who has methodically tried this yet. Apart from the similar cases of people who were seemingly cured following nothing more than a course of metronidazole, or antibiotic therapy for HP and inadvertantly finding that their halitosis has been eradicated in the process. Have a look at some of the other related threads.

"H. pylori has a strong affinity for the lining of the stomach and recent research has shown that it is the main cause of stomach ulcers(1,2,5,6,9); the use of aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is another important cause(12,13)."
When you refer to your situation and HP are you referring to BB or ulcer symptoms? The reason i ask is because if i understand it correctly it's referring to the corrosive nature of aspirin and NSAIDs on the lining of the stomach which could cause ulcers to form in the stomach lining. It happened to me when i had my tonsillectomy and was given VOLTAROL painkiller which no one warned me was highly corrosive and needed to be taken with food.. after a few days i had the most intense pains in my stomach which i could only relieve with milk.
So the dinner seemed to go great. I chewed on the mastic up until our food came out and then popped one in as soon as I got done.
We sat in a little booth only a foot or so across from each other, and we talked during the entire meal and for some time after our plates were taken away.
I didn't see her back away or touch her nose or anything the entire time, so it seems like everything must have been fine with me.
We left dinner saying that we would meet up again, for another date but I left it open since I have previous engagements for this weekend. If we do go on another date I would say that would be somewhat of confirmation for me that my BB must have been in remission during dinner.
I implore some of you to try mastic as well and let me know your experiences. I got mine from a local Greek/Mediterranean market. Supposedly it comes in chewing gum form also, but as I stated before I bought the raw form in little rocks.
Congrats on your successful results there so far..
I'd never heard of mastic until now.. im definitely making a note of it and i'll be on the lookout for this and give it a try as soon as i can.
thanx!!
In ancient Jewish halachic sources, it is indicated that chewing mastic was a treatment for bad breath. "Mastic is not chewed on shabbat. When (is it permissible to chew mastic on shabbat)? When the intention is medicinal. If it is against a bad odor, it is permissible." (תוספתא שבת פי"ב (יג) ח, כי"ע)
I found this kind of interesting, apparently chewing mastic is forbidden on the Sabbath but it is only allowed if it is for the treatment of BB.
jab9780 So how long do you say your breath was manageable? How many "rocks" did you used? Also did you noticed if the waiter or anyone else around you both was staring? If not then be assure your bb was gone during your great time with your date! When hubby and I go out to eat and we have a conversation and the waiter happens to come by or there are people close to our table I notice they turn to see us and stare and I know it is because my bb is strong and it lingers

I can't say for sure but I believe that its "manageable" while I'm chewing it and a little bit there after. I became self-concious during our meal a little bit because I wasn't chewing on the mastic but rather the food. So I reverted back to my normal covering of the mouth routine while I talked.
I just use one rock at a time, normally they are about half the size of a dime (US currency) I didnt really notice the waitress back off or anything...and nobody was staring at us.
Also the good news is we have a lunch date tomorrow. So we'll see if it continues to work. Seeing how I will be going straight from work, I wont have the time to do my normal "routine" of cleansing so hopefully the mastic will be strong enough to mask me while on it.
Also I've read some other natural remedies concerning chewing on cloves and cinammon sticks. I tried this out today, and while I do believe tit is effective, I think only on a temporary basis to mask or cover up the BB. Nonetheless a few minutes of masked odor is priceless to me!!
I'll keep you updated on if there is any positive/negative reactions from tomorrows date.
jab9780 Good for you! Another date tomorrow! With same person? Maybe you ought to bring your toothbrush and tongue brush to work and spend at least 5 minutes after work to do a quick clean up. GOOD LUCK and keep us posted

Hi halitosisux
Sorry, it has taken me this long to get back to you. I couldn't find the message thread. Plus have been busy catching up on some course work.
Anyway I think there was some confusion when I had the first test done because I did see a gastro specialist and he asked what test I had done for the h.pylori. There are two different ways of testing for it, through the breath test and a blood test.
I was blaming my nasal spray for the pains I was getting in my stomach, which lead to the h.pylori test. I am still not convinced I had h.pylori because I had the breath and blood test done once again after that first positive, which came back negative. The funny thing was I never really finish the treatment. I was given the triple therapy because my doctor thought I had an ulcer. I couldn’t stomach the clarithromycin and ended up in hospital.
I am glad I did google the disease and found that honey because that might have prevented it from returning.
Thanx for replying. I'll have to read it in the morning because i dont know if its the wine ive had but no matter how many times i read it i just cant understand you lol - sorry
