Hey guys, long time reader, first time poster.
Hope everyone had a manageable christmas, this was my first christmas i stayed at home and didnt attend the big family gathering that we have every year. No point in being there if I am just going to try and avoid conversation all night, mumble and just act like a complete weirdo.
Anyway I would just like to ask about everyones tongue's coating.
Do people here have an actual coating or is it like mine which is small white hairs (fur) covering all of the top surface whith red bumps at the very back, I think this is enlargment of the filliform papillae.
I am certain this is my problem and would like to know about everyone elses tongues including people that have been cured would be great.
I'm getting desperate now, about 6 months ago i watched 'the secret' and visualised myself with a pink tongue and fresh breath every night. I also wrote a note saying i would achieve this by christmas day with a picture of a pink tongue on it that i looked at every day so that my sub consionce would know that's what i want. I visualised myself finding the answer and posting it on here while visualising how happy we all would be.
Obviously to no avail. Just something else that is a load of rubbish that has made someone rich.
Anyway I will leave my first post there and would love to here about everyones tongues(if they are like mine or if someone knows how clear that up)
Thanks

Hi Alex,
There are some basic fundamentals which all contribute to the overall status of the tongue surface. This tongue structure is there to allow anaerobic bacteria and fungi to thrive, as an essential part of the digestive system. Tongue papillae provide this anaerobic environment, which grow constantly, and are kept to a certain length by the physical abrasion from chewing food etc. Thus while fasting or while dehydrated or not eating well in general, this builds up and forms a coating.
The microbial flora which lives on the tongue also contribute to this coating, forming a plaque similar to that on the teeth, but generally in a well balanced mouth, everything manages to remain a healthy pink.
Back in my early days of my own BB nightmare i wasnt even aware that my BB came from my tongue. Eventually I became aware that my coated tongue was the source of my BB odours. I'd try to scrape it off with a toothbrush but it didnt help much. By chance i once stopped doing this, and noticed that within a few days my coating was far less if i left it alone. I learned eventually that the scraping/brushing process was disturbing the microbial balance, allowing more tongue "plaque" to form and actually make my BB situation worse.
Generally, a tongue coating and odour buildup are a symptom of a situation going on elsewhere, whether that's alterations in the oral environment, such as low saliva levels, pH etc, or there are odours produced elsewhere which find their way onto this absorbant surface, as was likely happening in my case from a dental problem.

Well the tongue contributes to bad breath but is never the primary cuase, it could add to the smell but thats pretty much it.
Coated tongues are normal
so dont worry about it too much ie excessive cleaning, which from experience i personnally think cuases dry mouth thats why i recommend Tung Brush
White tongue is normal, but dont get me rong it contributes to bad breath

One Day One Day....
my tongue exactly like yours. every tongue hair has its own white tip. I have those big balls on the very back too. I feel there in my way of scraping. I have thought of burning my tonge amd clipping each hair 1 by1 . ! time I drank some really strong alcohol , when I woke up in the morning the alcohol had burnt the white off my tongue. I couldnt blv it was pink. But I thought I could go back to old habits and it came back
