BBKid,
I also thought the white coating of the tongue was the reason for my bb (still not sure what causes that overgrowth of bacteria which leads to the white coating) but I `ve managed to eliminate it, which of course is not true for my bb. So it proves one can have no white coating of the tongue and still have severe chalitosis..
Regarding the coating - I removed it by daily:
1) Brushing with Tung brush + KForce Balance Rinse
2) Scraping
3) Brushing with Tung brush + Tung gel
4) Scraping

White tongue is a strange issue. Because many people have it. Just look at videos(Lady GaGa for example) or your friends. Although this is where the BB causing bacteria can be, they are not always. If the bacteria are part of your tongue coating then we think its because there is anaerobic bacteria somewhere else in the upper respiratory tract, which causes the tongue overgrowth. therefore you could have an infected tooth, which's bacterial population alone is enough to cause BB even i you kill all of the bacteria on your tongue.
So if you want to reduce it, use a tongue brush with tung gel, possibly hydrogen peroxide may help too.
How bad is your situation BBkid? and when did your BB start

Thats correct, my friend who never has bb has white tounge many times. One time after partying i looked at my tongue and it was green because i drank some green drink so i told my friend wow dood my tongue is green. I pulled his out checked in mirror while me standing right by him and it was covered white. He said nah my is only white but he had no BB whatso ever. I never smelled bad breath from him so he doesnt have that issue.asd wrote:White tongue is a strange issue. Because many people have it. Just look at videos(Lady GaGa for example) or your friends. Well, give it a while mate, because people have reported having great results from hydrogen peroxide that dont last.
It did for me make a big difference though. The simple act of killing bacteria which have never been killed untill then, could drop the population dramatically. To the point when they never regenerate to that same level again.
However, I cannot understand how hydrogen peroxide could lose its effect, as how can anaerobic bacteria become resistant to oxygen? Doesnt seem plausible for me.
Keep it up and goodluck

I can't smell my breath but i do can smell my tongue. Whenever i brush my teeth and gargle, there is this neutral taste in my mouth. But once i do my tongue routine (tongue brush/scraper) and gargle, i always notice a nasty taste/smell.
Im using peroxide but i am not too confident of its effect after continuous usage. I think it has a 'diminishing returns' effect on my bb.
@halitosisux
Were your wisdom teeth impacted? Or did they grow normally? I am considering having my wisdom teeth extracted but i don't know what to tell the dentist if she asks me why do i need to.

Hi Daily_Dread,
have a read in this thread, it explains my tooth situation.

If you have an overcrowded jaw and you can detect any odours from around your wisdom teeth then you need to suspect them. Basically ur looking out for gum pockets which have formed around areas of the tooth the gum cannot adhere to, as commonly occurs with wisdom teeth which have struggled to erupt fully in an overcrowded mouth.
This of course applies to any teeth, and i dont just mean odours from trapped food and debris when flossing, this is normal.

Try this. Dont gargle with peroxide, Dip your tongue brush in it and brush. I usually do this 2 times. I can usually get my tongue pink, but the very very back, my tongue hairs seem to be individually died white. Im working on this. Iv also been using arnica fluid extract, its very cheap, you mix with water and gargle. Ive found you dont want to use anything minty because it makes matters worse, and it will make your breath travel farther beyond your mouth. If you use gum, try not to chew it, I usually suck on it for awhile, because as soon as I bite into it I get a big burst of mint poop mix.
