hey, give them time to heal, its only just over a week since u had them out, ALL 4 teeth, that's quite a lot of open wounds, it took me about 3 weeks til the smell of healing came down enough that it couldnt be detected, and that was only one tooth.

ithurts, maybe this is a good time to try asking a few people, you'll go nuts just going by unreliable reactions otherwise - for all you know you might be cured but your brain is just gonna be looking for the slightest negative gestures to convince you its still bad.. and people wipe their noses all the time, including when someone with good breath breathes into their face.
Just make out that ur worried what these extractions and all the clots etc are doing to your breath, people are more likely to be honest with you if they think it might just be a temporary situation from the extractions.

I'm going nuts man. I am no longer at home and don't have a reliable source. I'll update you guys my results in a 3 weeks when I can be more conclusive. This forum has been a great source of therapy for me. I can't thank you enough.

I went to the doctor today and told him that I have bad breath. Wow.. this dude immediately looked really uncomfortable. I'm surprised. We did a few blood tests and a urine test. I'm also going to do a saliva culture test. We'll see what turns up. I'm going to take allergies shots soon and need to get my PND under control. I'm currently taking Claritin.

It is actually not that hard to admit that you have bad breath. I am glad that I did it today.

Hi John,
Is there any odour if you rub the gum around any of these teeth? You dont explain much so its hard to advise. Try describing a bit more about these teeth and why you feel the need to remove them. I wish i could tell you to follow the advice of your dentist, but dentists are not going to sit there prodding your teeth and smelling their fingers, but that's what is required because no amount of knowledge or experience can just look in your mouth and tell you that you dont have any problem that could be causing your BB. I say this because that's exactly what happened in my case.
If you doubt your dentist's opinion, then get another. And if u do have odour coming from the gum around any of your teeth then its vital you deal with that.

it only smells between the first and second molar.
but when i floss, i put the wire in hydroperoxide and the smell is gone for about 8 hours, but the BB is not gone for100%.

i didnt mean odour between teeth, that's nothing unnusual, i meant odour from where the gum meets the teeth, a sign that bacteria are having an orgy there and producing foul discharge either through the process of gum disease or an anaerobic structure from an abnormal tooth situation (impacted teeth which havent fully erupted for instance).

Guys,

I took an x-ray recently and I have all 4 wisdom tooth. The upper 2 are erupted and the lower 2 are below the gumline. I would require surgery for the lower 2. Anyway, I will be removing the upper 2 first which is going to happen in the next 2 days. I am getting one removed in the next few hours.. Will keep you guys updated. Very nervous. I am not sure whether removing the upper 2 would help since it is fully erupted. Can some of you please enlighten me.

Cheers,

Sun

Hello Everyone,

I just got home from the dentist. I removed my upper right wisdom tooth just now. It was a quick procedure since this tooth was already erupted and it was like removing a tooth. No complications. Tomorrow Ill get my upper left removed. There is no pain at the moment and all I can taste at the moment is blood. I will be removing the cotton soon. Will keep you guys updated on this.

this thread is amazing and has given me new hope(again)

i have been rubbing around my 2 lower wisdom teeth alot recently with my finger and not only does it smell worse than other teeth, but i have an even worse taste than normal and my tongue smells worse than it usually does when i scrape the gunk off

and halitosisux made another interesting point about his tongue when he had bad breath
since i have been aware of my bad breath, i have had to scrape my tongue every day or my breath and taste in my mouth is really really bad

i just assumed this was all down to my tongue so i started scraping twice a day but my tongue never felt clean even after doing this, now i think it might be my lower wisdom teeth, which are impacted, especially the left one( i can feel it but it is like it is the top of my tooth is just poking through)

now i think the gunk and smelly tongue is down to lower wisdom teeth

i am definitely going to get a dentist to have a look at my wisdom teeth and ask to get them out

So removing your remaining bottom wisdom tooth has completely cured you of BB??

That's interesting. When I last went to my dentist, he said that that my righ wisdom bottom tooth - i has the left one removed years ago - might be my problem since their is a flap around my remaining bottom tooth.

I never thought it was a problem b/c I've had BB since my teens and my wisdom tooth came in my late teens / early twenties.
i removed my lower two wisdom teeth but not the upper two and my bb is still there
