Constant Mucus Production

Post by Bluerain »

It seems that many of us have similar sinus problems, which is leading to our horrible breath. I can usually feel rather thick clear mucus from post nasal drip on my tongue throughout the day and i would often have to cough it up. Nasal washes/irrigation takes out buckets of the stuff. My tongue like many of the people on here is thick at the back and is really rough.

I think to get rid of this type of chronic bb the mucus from our pnd has to be reduced or stopped. The mucus from pnd is providing constant food for the bacteria on our tongue. This is probably the reason many of the products that claim to kill bacteria don't work although they will decrease the numbers but can't get rid of all the bacteria completely. The ones left behind will recolonize, which may explain why most products only work for a few hours tops.

I've read a guy who was cured from his bb after getting surgery for a deviated septum, which can cause congestion, infection, pnd. Without his sinus problems the guy was free of bb. I know some people didn't find a cure after surgery so my question for you is do you still suffer from pnd? Have you asked your ENT about medication to control pnd? Perhaps on top of all your previous sinus problems you also had nonallegric nasal inflammation that leading to pnd. This type of inflammation can be caused by barometric pressure, humidity levels, food, alcohol, and even emotional stress. Have any of you tried nasal steroid or nasal antihistamine spray or both together? There is a more recent drug for nasal inflammation called azelastine (antihistamine spray). Has anyone tried it?

I'm going to see my ENT soon and I'm going to ask for a CT scan to check if I have any structural abnormalities and about newer drugs for pnd.

I have constant mucous so i know how you feel. Took this thing called Proflox and the mucous is now pretty much odorless. You can also try this thing called fluimuci which are these things that dissolve themselves in the water and you drink it, it keeps the mucous more liquid and it comes out easier.
