This is what I understand so far... Please help...

For at least the last 16 years (ouch) I've suffered from BB. That’s since I was a youngish child, or at least that's as far back as I can remember there being some sort of "incident."

Over the last 7 years (roughly) my diet and lifestyle has been in total free fall. By that I mean heavy junk food intake and not enough exercise. I am far from being morbidly obese, but I would say my system is very much polluted with years of shit intake.

Having said that, in no way do I think this is the original cause of my BB, it has just added to the problem. Because the only reason I started on this regime was due to depression (comfort food etc). And why was I depressed? Well, I think you know the answer to that ;)

Just recently I started to remember when I was young that I had quite a major dentist procedure. No idea what it was but I think it had something to do with one of my back teeth. All I recall was that I had to be put asleep, and for my parents to allow that sort of thing at such a young age it must have been pretty serious (yes, my parents did/do love me).

So in summary this is how I would lay out my situation:

- BB for last 16 years (since a young age)
- Poor diet (junk food) for the last 7 years and a poor lifestyle
- Quite serious dentist procedure when young, not sure what for, but had to be put to sleep

I would also note the following:

- My saliva is what can only be described as elastic. For example if I try to spit there will be a trail of saliva from me to the ground (LOL that sounds weird). I guess a bit like a spider’s web?

- Growing up I did drink a LOT of milk. And I mean a LOT. Plus side is that my bones are very strong and my teeth are in surprisingly good condition given the amount of sugar I pump through them every week. My milk intake has reduced quite dramatically recently, but I would still say it’s medium.

- I do not have any sort of bodily dysfunction other than BB. And by that I mean I could be considered a healthy person (not taking into recent diet activities of course). For example I have not been to the doctors or hospital in over 7 years. And when I went to the doctors then it was to ask him about BB. Guess what he told me? “Perhaps try flossing.” So yeah, I never really get sick and have never had any serious health problems as a child or adult. I do not smoke or drink alcohol.

One final thing I would say is in regards to tongue color. Years ago I tried TheraBreath and the first time I applied it to my tongue it went really pink and healthy looking. In fact I remember standing in front of the mirror and thinking I’d found the answer. Alas we all know the truth behind that fraudster. But it’s always interested me as to why it would do so well like that. My tongue doesn’t look THAT unhealthy. In fact just now I’ve eaten junk food for dinner (about 3 hours ago), and I’ve just finished 2 sugary drinks and also a carton of milk. I went to check my tongue and it’s pretty red/pink. Yes it looks a little unhealthy but nothing serious. So that kinda confuses the hell out of me. I know at times it can look quite bad though.

Oh one more thing before I go onto potential cures… There doesn’t seem to be any bad breath coming from my nose. In fact if there was I’d probably have commit s*****e by now. That is my last refuge for a partially “normal” life. I can be standing a few feet away from someone and as long as I don’t open my mouth things seem to be alright. I find that REALLY odd. How can something so close to my mouth not be affected? Air passes from exactly the same source, right?

Okay so that’s the back story… Onto the potential cures and I would really appreciate some feedback based on what I’ve written above and what is said below. Please help me try to get rid of this nightmare.

First “cure” would be to completely cut dairy and sugar from my diet. I don’t think this will cure my BB per say, but it would help.

Second thing would be to go on a much stricter diet. Make sure healthy foods were included (plenty of fruit and vegetables) in all my meals and never over eat.

Third thing would be to dramatically improve my lifestyle. More exercise and weight loss being the main objective.

So far that’s pretty basic. In fact there’s no real reason I shouldn’t be doing this already. Onto the more serious cures...

I was thinking about getting tested for both diabetes and lactose intolerance. I know you can buy diabetes home tests for like 10 bucks, so that would be well worth it. No idea how I would get a lactose intolerance test though.

Second serious cure would be to get my mouth completely looked over by a high quality professional dentist. I would ask for a deep clean and also for him/her to scan all my back teeth. Pretty sure I have all my wisdom teeth remaining… Maybe something has become infected? Reading halitosisux’s posts lead me to believe that.

Third solution would be seriously improving dental hygiene using a combination of products including the tung brush and grapefruit seed extract (does this work?). I would also try the Neti Pot to see if PND was adding to my problem. Maybe brush and rinse with SmartMouth as well? Although maybe this is just another TheraBreath clone?

That’s it. That’s all I can think of doing. Pathetic when you think that this problem has completed fucked up my life and all I can come up with is a hand full of basic ideas. Guess I have been and still am in serious denial and depression mode.

If anyone has read this post in full and knows something please say it.

halitosisux: I would really like your feedback too. I know you’ve been cured and I think it’s very honourable that you stick around these forums and try to help people.

That’s it then! Thank you reading :)

I have nose fart. Somethng I noticed is if my tongue is really clean nose smell doesnt seem strong. If I have a pile up of food on tongue, and mouh is nasty then it goes through nose stronger. That being said I would advise you to keep you tongue free of milk, and other foods. I wouldnt mess arund with nose sprays and such, because you could cause some nose problems, You dont seem cronic, so I would really focus on keeping tongue clean, and cleaning between teeth at night. I also have some relif with thera paste. I brush with smart mouth, but when my whole routine is done I put a glob of thera breath on my tongue. This does seem to work, but 1 hour with mouth closed and it comes right back. Thats why I just ordred probiora3. Its supposed to have 3 different bacterias that are good for the mouth. I can imagine it would definately work for people who are not cronic. You dont have any other problems, and it sounds like your diet. I myself have cut milk out alot. Those sugary drinks you had have to stop, for your breath and health.Peole stop drinking this crap. Everytime you pick up a sweetened drink, your basicaly drinking sugar water. Your saliva is thick, you really need more water. With all the junk food I can imagine you have poor eliminations. Famouse psycic Edgar Cayce say bad breath is caused by poor eliminations. If your not letting out poop your body becomes toxic. And all that stench is the toxins trying to leave. I mostly rinse and gargle with water, and smart mouth at night. I think drinking water plays a part too. At night if I wake up and drink water when I wake up I feel more clean and not sticky mouth. If I dont drink water, Its going through nose and its bad.
! more thing to note my mouth is always very hot. When I was younger it was never this hot and sticky.

Hey Leonardo, wb GTSY again and thanks for the kind words. This problem has BEEN my life for so long, its an honour for me to be in this position where my experiences might be able to help anyone.

Sounds like there's plenty left for you to try if you havent yet ruled out lactose intolerance.
Not sure what to think regarding your stringy saliva, is it always like this? Mine can get like that too for a while if i've eaten a lot of sugary foods or gagged my eyeballs out when ive ever tried to brush my tongue etc. It might just be a symptom of something else, but may be a lead for you to further investigate. As far as I know, lactose intolerance can thicken mucus which might give the impression that your saliva is thicker as it runs down into your throat. To find out whether you have any kind of intolerance, simply requires that you abstain from consuming that particular food item. Might be Worth anyone trying the lactase supplement tablets being mentioned lately.

On the subject of your teeth, is it possible for you to see your dental records to see what work was done? Could it have been related to saliva nerves/ducts/glands? could they have been damaged during this dental procedure you had?

Incidentally I also did not have nasal odour (as far as I was led to believe anyway). Just as you described, I could comfortably sit there and as long as I kept my mouth tightly sealed then I could manage to sit amongst others, and grunt the occasional necessary replies, but that's all. I still feel the same severe anxiety when I feel trapped and unable to leap away if necessary, if im not eating or chewing something - I dont think these deep-seated anxieties ever leave you, but i am improving a little with time.
I guess it depends on the types of bacteria and resulting gasses produced whether odours thru the nose become perceptible to others or not. The nose has different "sensitivity" to every type of odour.

Steer clear of any magic potions or remedies and quackery, your MISSION is to find out the CAUSE of your BB, not just try to mask it. Its important not to try too many things at once, because its the subtle changes you need to watch out for and persue the reasons behind them. Spend some time reseaching the established causes of BB and make a list in order of likelihood for your own situation. Dont assume ANYTHING, just methodically run through that list one by one. Dont let depression keep nagging you that your situation is beyond you - The chances are very high that you'll find a reason for your BB. When you've had this problem for so long, denial and depression are as much a factor as anything else in keeping you trapped in this hellish existence.

Health eating and general good health is always a good thing, apart from the obvious reasons, you'll have a much more stable basis to be working on, you need the least amount of fluctuations, like your hydration and your digestive health etc.
