I have been doing this, and the crazy smell dislodged itself and stunk up the whole shower!

Iv been doing it too, once you pinch your nose, I hold my breath and it keeps the water from falling out into throat.
elgrizzle you say the stink dislodged itself, did you feel something like a ball formaion, a snot ball, that came out, Are you cured of this smell? how long did it take for you.
I woke up this morning and my tongue was completely white and thick, this must be the same stuff thats in our nose, it must gradually made a trail of bacteria right up our nose ,
I wonder if the saline is effective enough, we cant gargle with our nose. I am glad we're onto something.

Could one possiblity be that indeed there is some kind of fungal (or bacterial biofilm) sinus infection and not necessarily of the maxillary sinuses.
This has been discussed quite a lot on the forum. For me, what makes this SO plausible is the phenomenon of smelly sneezes. These are not just mild whiffs, but SERIOUSLY pungent lingering odours worthy of the title of nasal FART!
Do a google search and you'll see how common this is, and YET this is all in the total absense of other symptoms associated with sinus infections. People who have this dont complain of BB because its not constantly draining into the rest of the nasopharynx. The smell might only come out during sneezes for these people because of the force of the sneeze opening up the passages sufficiently and sucking out the foul discharge/air as the air rushes through the rest of the nose. But for some people on this site the passages are open enough to allow foul discharge to continuously (or intermittenty) drain, making it all so perplexing. And might explain why irrigation is only ever a temporary solution that does appear to be effective, because its washing the nose of foul discharge, but not necessarily able to make a dent on the underlying problem.
Another thing is, rather than candida from elsewhere in the body causing problems in the mouth and sinuses etc, could it be completely the other way round? that if a chronic fungal infection of some kind is occuring inside a sinus, this could be the "source" of problems and fungal infection constantly spreading around the rest of the body, including the ears, the tongue, and right through to everywhere else. A healthy body is capable of dealing with yeast/fungus etc, through many different defense mechanisms, but in the sinuses its a whole different matter, which is why it would remain chronic. There is also a specific immune defieciency (see below) which can lead to increased susceptibility to candida infection of the mucous membranes - could be worth asking a doctor to be tested for this and perhaps it leading to being taken more seriously and investigated further with regards to the sinuses.
Someone recently pointed out that their nose fart seemed to worsen initially when starting any kind raw diet or candida diet etc. If you read anything to do with chronic sinusitis the most important thing is adequate hydration to thin the mucus and reduce swelling of the mucous membranes. Could this be why the odour gets worse, because its fascilitating better drainage?
I never suffered with nasal odour, simply because it wasnt anything to do with the cause of my BB.

It is most likely a fungus that cannot be treated with anti-biotics. Apparently they are working on a vaccine.
When I do the rinse I constantly get rid of thick clear mucous, which I have read means that it is fungal. When you get rid of yellow mucous it is bacterial. I have gotten rid of yellow mucous before yes. But no big ball came out when I really smelt the smell. It smelt up the whole shower. But it is different than the nasal fart smell. The nasal fart smell smells like a fart. This other smell smelt like mold/blood/cheese/dust/mustiness. Very strong, and my room would smell like that in my old house from me being in there with the windows and door shut.
I haven't smelt that smell back yet, but the nasal fart smell is still there (which comes and goes), It comes on mostly when I am stressed. I still have post nasal drip. So I got the doctor to prescribe me a decongestant which he said will take care of the post nasal drip. It also has 2 anti-biotics in it. its call soframycin, it wont get the fungus, but if the cause is bacterial mucous running into the throat, it might stop the smell. I will continue to do the rinses, and on top use this spray.

I also have thivk very clear but bubbly mucus. There is no anti fungal nose spray. but silversinus is something I am going to order this week. The site says they are realizing most of these infections are fungal nature. And silver sinus can help. Thats my next step

I am not sure theres a diff between the pungent smell of your and nasal fart, I just call it nasal fart so people would realize a bad smell from nose and what I ment. But my smell from nose is similar to what you describe.
So its either fungal or a build up of anaerobic bacteria th same thats in our mouths

I felt awesome after doing that sinus flush a few times...can't smell any bad smells through my nose for at least a while after...
Its the first thing in ages thats actually given me a bit of relief. Caught the bus to work today without people around me rubbing their nose every 5 mins. Still the BB was back after breakfast (which i usually eat at work).. breakfast was advocado on rye crackers..
still i'll take any positive i can get at this stage.

I didnt want to talk too soon. But its only been 2 days since Ive been doing this and I really think I m having relief. Last night my son said he could smell absolutely nothing, and when I woke up this morning, it was the freshest its ever been in the morning.
Ill have a whole day of shopping on wednsday so I cant wait to see if I get reactions. Thank god finaly some relif from nose fart. Thank you god

I am excited, I am eating a bowl of spicy chilli and my son says theres absolutely no smell from nose.
I use spicy v8 juice insted of tomatoe sauce, oh its so good.
This couldnt be happening at a better time,
