lol, Im glad its working for you! its working for me too! Thank god. At first the rinses proliferated the smell, making it more noticeable by me, and other people. The first time I did a nasal wash, I cam out of the bathroom, started talking, and he said, "something smells like poo". That was a long time ago, so I kinda gave up o the rinse.

Now the smell is diminishing day by day, and I am getting less and less reactions. I am still getting long strands of white thread like mucous coming out my nose, and plenty of thick clear mucous, so its still in there but is slowly being drawn out, day by day.

Keep us posted. I will also let u know how things go! If this works 100% I hope that everyone is able to find out about it.

I'm starting this flush tomorrow after i get salt and a squeeze bottle, i hope i'll have as much success as everyone on that site, it seems to have worked for several people. Tho i still think a clean diet will be necessary to take care of mouth bb, i hope not but whatever it takes.

One user near the bottom of the page said he used a few drops of GSE in the saline flush and managed to dislodge ricotta-like balls which caused a stench beyond description. I've mentionned that in the past when i used GSE as a mouthwash but gargling only wasn't good enough to reach/dislodge anything, i can't wait to flush with GSE so i can get that stuff out.

@People with poop breath who never had nasal odor:
Just because you never had nasal odor doesn't mean you're not proned to getting it. I've had BB for 20 years and didn't get a nasal odor til recently when i started experimenting with certain products and diets. Halitosisux suggested that you get nasal odor once you improve your drainage - that's the only explanation that makes sense to me. My point is, don't dismiss this important thread because you think nasal odor doesn't apply to you, it applies to anyone with poop BB imo. I think you get a nasal odor once you 'attack'/reach/dislodge what's actually causing your poop breath. Also, fyi, mouth BB and the nasal odor are 2 different smells for some reason, the nasal one smells like something just died, i don't know how else to describe it, it's actually much worse than poop breath if you can believe that. It's like a smell that's been imprisonned and rotting for years and finally being released but thankfully, it's short-lived. I don't think there's a smell worse than that in the universe so stay home if you ever experience it, i'm not kidding, people near you will be in agony. I plan on doing the flush at nite before going to bed if it indeed works.

Where there's smoke there's fire! sounds like some are closing-in on the source, hope this turns out to be the answer for a lot of people on here with the similar symptoms. If there's clearly odour coming from the sinuses, I would say find yourselves a sympathetic ENT RIGHT AWAY, who is willing to make further investigations. Irrigation etc might work, but also might make matters worse, so its easy to get discouraged inadvertantly. Sinus situations tend to be deep-seated and they require appropriate intervention. Believe me, I've been helping my mum's nasal problems for years.

I just want to add something.. that odour caused by a bit of dried mucus or slight infection at the entrance to the nostrils etc is normal and everyone gets that from time to time and knows what that smells like. But the kind of odours being described on here are ABSOLUTELY NOT NORMAL! - dont let any medical person get away with dismissing you and trying to kid you otherwise.

No person who has never suffered with chronic BB can EVER comprehend the seriousness of this problem, what an ultimate spanner in the works it is and the far reaching implications it has on life. But an ENT is generally only going to consider sinus PAIN/repeated bacterial infections/structural problems/diseases like tumours etc/ seriously. They have medical guidelines that FORCE them to overlook anything which isnt medically necessary to deal with. So they just shrug us off and shy away - sometimes they dont even LOOK into the nostrils.

Also the intermittent nature of these nasal odours, its all too easy for ENT to dismiss things just because you might not smell much (if at all) on the day, as per typically anyway when you see a doctor.

And we all know how seriously we generally get taken when we seek help. We either get ripped off, or we're treated like a joke or a freak.

Be careful using that stuff, i have put water with a couple of drops of that stuff up my nose and it nearly killed me!!! Make sure its really diluted.

Beore I got squeze bottle I was using neti pot. And afterwards I would get this really trashy smell come from mouth and sinus like the water just pushed the trash closer to nostrils.
Since doing this upside down flush I have not sensed any trash while doing it, I think its really cleaning me out, yesterday I was doin it and I blew my nose and this perfectly circular yellow mucus came out. It looked like a small perfect circle of yellow mucus. I am so excited

I just noticed something too. The middle ear canal drains into the sinus and eustachian tube. The ear canal could be infected too.

why? Antibiotics will just kill bacteria, it won't get any of the bad stuff out so bacteria will just repopulate. Think of a swamp - even if you vaporize all the flies, new ones will come.

Well I went to urgent care, not my primary.
He neber heard of bad smell from nose. He didnt know anaerobic bacteria causes hali, and he didnt know metronidazole was used to treat anaerobic bacteria. I told him all Im going through , and told him my reearch on this drug. He said he can assure me that drug isnt used to kill anaerobic bacteria, but he said he would check.
He also said tonsils inflamed, left gland under throat was inflamed, and nasal inflamed. He came back in the room and said I was right about the drug but he cant give it to me because there has to be a reason. I explained to him that I believ my whole face and theoat is anaerobicly filled, he said an ent would have to prescribe it. He gave me the complete run around, wich ended with me telling him when he goes home to night he can be thankful that he ruined my day. By not helping me. He suggested a test for strep throat and then he would give me antibiotics. I was so ppissed I just left. I dont even have a soar throat.
I am going to my primary tommorow because she seems like she would give me anything I want to try.
I am so sick of these docs not knowing hit
I really think he didnt give me metronidazole because that wouldve proved me right and him wrong. And he said I was right about the drug so I just cant see why he wouldnt budge.
After researching that drug I learned that anaerobic bacteria caan klive in throat sinus, mouth , and other places. I just got in the car and started crying. Its not my fault he didnt know what the rug is used for. You fu&&^*&^*&^g bastard. Would it have killed him or me to just give it to me to try. F***k

Metronidazole is quite effective against certain forms of badbreath, but the only problem is, it will come back. It is not a permanent cure.

I have used it myself. But it did not work for the sinuses, just the mouth.

I tried this technique in the shower yesterday and had the freakiest thing come out my nose! It was a long stringy, grey bit of mucous with the consitancy of rubber or chewing gum!! It was really tough stuff, almost semi-solid!!

I did the rinse again today but only got normal looking clear mucous coming out, and there wasn't much of it. My nose smelled odd for a while after yesterdays rinse, but less so today. Also, the mucous that came out, even the grey solid stuff, didn't smell bad, so I'm not sure this is my problem, or maybe my mouth bb is a different issue.

It's too early to say this has helped my bb, although I have noticed my nose and mouth seem less smelly for a while afterwards (I think I may have a dodgy wisdom though).

I'm going to keep doing this every day for a few weeks a see how it goes, I'll post with any improvements or if anymore alien creatures appear from up my nose

Nasal Irrigation feels great. I did it for 2 years but stopped awhile ago when I realized it didn't make a difference. I used Grossan Nasal Irrigator, and Nelimed sinus rinse. I only dislodge clear mucous, never yellow. I have never had yellow mucous unless I was actually sick.

After a half year of no irrigation, I'm not better or worse. But indeed try it, if you haven't before.
