Ever notice how the odor gets worse when we are more stressed out. It makes sense that it would get worse over time due to a cycle. We get a reaction, we get upset, the odor gets worse, we get more reactions, even more upset, odor gets even worse....
This is some research to prove that stress causes allergies, immune deficiency, and all kinds of hormonal and symbiotic imbalances. http://www.thedoctorwillseeyounow.com/n ... gies.shtml
So I think that it is imperative that we relax, and find ways to de-stress ourselves. This is a large portion of the healing process.
I noticed there was a small dot on the wall. I figured I would try to focus on this dot without thinking about anything else. Within a few seconds my thoughts began to think about my odor. lol. Looks like I got some work to do.

Managing the stress associated with odor
You realy dont have alot of control of your mind. Try to stop it from thinkig and I bet you ant.
there are 3 different levels to the mind
Someoone could say something, you may say what, but then you repeat what they just said, because we werent paying attention but our subconscis mind was. Sometime I try so hard nt to think about it, and i gave up because it has now invaded my dreams

I do think that when people make you aware of your BB, it can aggravate things.
But if I sit at home relaxed for a week, and see a friend later, I have the same issue. No stress, BB. Breath is same, but my buddy is used to it, and it allows me to relax. However I can still tell when he tries to avoid getting too close.
I had meetings last week, and I was talking to this girl in line to 'check' my breath, and she was sneezing and coughing. I walked away for a moment and she was still coughing. Apparently, she had a cold, and I relaxed when she continued to speak to me. However during the meeting, the lady had her lips pursed and cut the meeting short.
So I tend to think the breath stays the same, but our perception of it changes. Also, I think if you act like you have BB, people will treat you as such.

Whenever I'm blue about things I go outside into my yard and I always feel better. Something about fresh air and nature that never fails to perk me up. I live near one of the Great Lakes and sometimes I'll go to the lake to walk on the beach and feed the seagulls. It's pure magic. Even when it's freezing cold it's amazing.

Fresh air and nature also helped me to cope. Any excuse to go to the coast and I'd be there. The thing I loved most was getting all muddy on a mountain bike. From other's viewpoint im utterly bizarre and always have been - im like a driver who has learned to drive around in reverse gear. I've been going forwards by going backwards and somehow I made it.
I agree with you there elliott on perceptions. Also the way we see ourselves gets reflected in the way people see us and treat us. I know people with horrific breath and people dont DARE to flinch at them and quite happy to endure the situation, and then others who are quiet and vulnerable and draw attention to this who get attacked.. its a perpetual spiral. Some people just have thicker skins and are less susceptible, that's why it never occurs to some that they have BB yet others are super-sensitive to reactions and quickly make their conclusions. I can remember the exact moment when I realised the connection between my bad breath and ALL the problems in my life being connected to this - felt a kind of relief because I finally knew what I was up against, but extremely depressed at the time because I felt convinced this was something i'd been born with.
