News from the TMAU Foundation/Fecal odor/Nullo

Post by oceanside »

FYI...,

Reliable source, TMAU member sent this out. Pattycake forwarded this news to me. Those with fecal odor, think about this news b/c it's reliable, believable, and not from some spammer. If you are planning to try it, and it works for you, report it to us.

Last year I was on 12,000mg of chlorella, 6,000mg Spirulina, chlorophyll remedy, for three months but it just made my #2 green, as for my breath, stanked as ever.

Subject [thetfnetwork] Nullo: A Less-Expensive Alternative to Derifil

Many TMAUers, myself included, have great success with Derifil, a chlorophyllin copper complex that works as an "internal deodorant."

The problem: Derifil is expensive (about $60 for 100 tablets) and can be hard to get, [since it's not sold over the counter, it has to be special-ordered in store, or mail-ordered online].

Recently, when my supply of Derifil began to run low, I attempted to order more via the two on-line pharmacies (www.americarx.com and www.alleonpharmacy.com) that have provided the product in the past. Unfortunately, both were sold out and would be for weeks.

I contacted Dr. Preti (who, upon diagnosing my TMAU last May, recommended Derifil as part of my treatment program) to ask where else I might find the product.

Much to my surprise, he suggested that I purchase Nullo instead: It has the same active ingredients and is just as potent as Derifil (each tablet contains 100 mg of chlorophyllin copper complex) but COSTS ONLY $10 a bottle (for 60 tablets) and CAN BE FOUND AT MANY LOCAL DRUGSTORES. [I was just in CVS today and found a full supply of Nullo sitting right on the shelf. It can also be purchased through the drugstore's website (www.cvs.com) or via www.americarx.com.]

According to the Nullo label, "Customers have found Nullo to be effective when taken daily, to help reduce [fecal and urinary] odors...bad breath, perspiration odors such as foot odor, underarm odors, as well as masculine and feminine hygiene." I have been taking Nullo (two tablets a day: one in the AM; another at night) for over a week now and I believe it's helping.

Of course, you will need to try it for yourself in order to determine if it is right for you. And be patient: According to the bottle, you must "allow 2 to 14 days" for the product to take effect.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The fine print:
Always check with your doctor before taking any supplements.
Some people experience cramps, stomach upset, and/or diarrhea when taking chlorophyll. These symptoms can often be alleviated by lowering the dosage.
This information is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

From Nullo's website..

"Nullo's primary ingredient causes a change in metabolism of odor-producing bacteria. This affects a neutralization (complexing or adsorbtion) of the odorous gas in bacterial cultures. Thus, the odors of bodily wastes are dramatically reduced or eliminated."

Will this work for non-TMAU BB as well? Since it's so cheap, can someone from the USA with chronic BB report on it's effectiveness of it's please? I really hope it works. Chlorella did nothing for me either.

Well its cheap so who cares? Lets try it. I'll try to find it here in Greece but I doubt I can.

Does it have to be Nullo? I don`t think we have it here. I purchased a bottle of chlorophyll supplements a couple of weeks ago but haven`t tried it yet. And will it interact with spirulina?

jc, Nullo contains something called chlorophyllin which seems to be a copper compound of chlorophyll. I hope this means that chlorophyllin is more potent that chlorophyll. I guess I will have to wait and watch until someone in the US tries this and reports their results here.

i apologize for the many typos and other mistakes - just writing from memory. i'm tired and sleepy and don't want to keep checking. anyway, i checked chlorophyllin and it seems like a potentially useful product. it is basically chlorophyll in a water soluble form and has a fifty year old history of being used. the wikipedia link mentions some oregan state university site and there are some other (mayo, nih lib) links that suggest that it seems safe and maybe useful.

i bought a bottle of capsules made by natures way (avaliable at my whole foods). the same chemical - sodium something something is also called chlorophyllin copper and is sold by many companies - so i don't believe any one person will be benefit by spreading false claims.

in other news - i have been trying bio-k yogurt and vsl#3. bio-k yogurt is expensive as hell - 5 US$ for one cup. it doesn't seem to be doing much, but i am desperate and i will take it for a month. google it and check out the site. vsl#3 has been the subject of serious studies (funded by themselves) and it seems safe and may have some use, the studies report some success for some stomach ailments. not particularly encouraging for us. at least they are willing to have the product put through rigorous scientific study. again quite expensive. i started on both these about a week ago. some minor improvement - but really nothing to write home (i.e. you fuckers) about.

i"ll write back if i have success with chlorophyllin copper. take care everyone. find the time to relax and enjoy the moment. there are worse things that happen to people than having terrible breath. i am planning to start meditating fom tomorrow.

I tried the chlorophyll capsules(different brand) yesterday along with spirulina & acidophilus. I couldn`t believe the result. After 13years of hardship I felt the longest period of relief from my bb. As of today, I still don`t get any reactions from the people I passed by. This isn`t the case three weeks ago. It`s still too early too tell but I think they(chlorophyll, spirulina & acidophilus) are working better now coz my bb was weakened by the meds I took a week ago. I promise to post the outcome, whether it`s good or bad.

To those spirulina users

Spirulina is being developed as the "food of the future" because of its amazing ability to synthesize high-quality concentrated food more efficiently than any other algae. Most notably, Spirulina is 65 to 71 percent complete protein, with all essential amino acids in perfect balance. In comparison, beef is only 22 percent protein.

I have a question, the bacterias that produce bad other like high protein food and amino acids, as a matter of fact one of the bad odor produce in back nose drip is because its high contain of amino acid. How the spirulina will prevent the bacterias to discompose the amino acids and proteins

It just a question, I know we are not expert in this matter, but we might ask some experts.

I really don`t have a choice coz gnc only sells their own spirulina & chlorophyll brand. I really wanted to try nullo but it`s not available in my country. As for my breath, I still think that it`s a lot better now than it was weeks ago.. Hope that chlorophyll finishes the job.

KL:
I`ve also wondered about spirulina`s high protein content. As we all know, protein feeds these bacterias. But I was hoping that the algae`s other healing abilities would cure whatever systemic problem that I have & therefore eliminating the bb, even by chance. I also plan to stop taking spirulina today to avoid interactions with the chlorophyll. I`ll replace it with chlorophyll so I`ll be taking 3 capsules instead of 2.

JC: thanks very much for your reply. Sorry for being a bother - but can you check the label and confirm that it is chlorophyll and not chlorophyllin copper that you are taking. thanks.

interesting. i was almost certain it might have a big label stating chlorophyll but the small print would state chlorophyllin. anyway, i found some other stuff on the net stating that if chlorophyll isn't absorbed in the blood, then it can't have any benefit. but it is working for you so - so i am hopeful. 2 days and my bowel movements are a bit strange. i feel emptied but a bit wierd. i am going to keep taking it for 14 days unless i feel bad. no change in the thickness of my saliva and breath as yet. thanks.
