Halitosissux, I removed the tooth for a few reasons:halitosisux wrote:Haligone, what was the logic behind removing this tooth with the broken filling? I'm just curious to know.
Also, I think you'll be doing the right thing by removing any impacted wisdom teeth. Dealing with BB is all about the process of elimination.
1. I read somewhere (not on this site but somewhere else) about someone who had a cavity that had a filling, she said that the tooth got decayed beneath the filling and also said that the decay went all the way to their sinuses and gave them BB. Once they extracted this tooth, they were fine.
2. at the begining of this discussion, you may have noticed that one day had his BB back for a while, but it was cured when he got rid of that tooth.
3. I had it confirmed by 2 different dentists that the cavity I had was broken...............
so I thought maybe this could be causing the BB, thats why I extracted the tooth.
If it went all the way to their sinuses then the tooth must have been dead, because then it has to go through the nerve. Was your tooth dead?Haligone wrote:Halitosissux, I removed the tooth for a few reasons:halitosisux wrote:Haligone, what was the logic behind removing this tooth with the broken filling? Thing is, if I hadnt had it out, I would always have had it in my mind that it could be the cause of my BB. So for me, it is a case of elimination of possible causes. This was the only tooth I had with a cavity, and now it is gone.
I am not pulling out any other teeth apart from a partially erupted wisdom tooth I am planning to get done a bit later on. Once that is out, I will rule out my teeth as the source of BB and target something else

I was further convinced when the private dentist said the decay under the filling was so deep that I needed root canal treatment.
I just need to get rid of this stupid BB!!
But it wouldnt help you much anyway, because it was only one short post which did not have much more info than what I typed previously.
By the way, how do you know your cavity goes all the way to your sinuses?
I had a root canal on that particular tooth when I was 13 due to severe tooth decay on it. During the same time, I developed BB, and I found that to be far too coincidental... so today, I forced my dentist to take a look at that tooth. There was a small hole beside it (refer to my past posts) and she argued that although food could be stuck in that hole, it wouldn't be the dominant reason for my BB. Well, after taking an x-ray of it, she discovered that my tooth was infected all the way to my sinuses, and she asked if I had any sinus issues etc. As well, the root canal no longer met? She mentioned something about the roots meeting when it forms? - no idea what this means, maybe it'll help. Anyway, she was going to send me to a specialist to have it redone, but I suggested I just get it extracted because it's caused me FAR too many issues. She didn't want to extract it herself until she got a second opinion because it was so close to the sinuses. I find out Tuesday what happens! How did your extraction go for you? Was the tooth infected, or did it just have a cavity?
I went to a private dentist who also said the filling was broken, but he said I needed root canal treatment. He agreed to extract the tooth when I suggested it, mainly because (I think) he couldnt care less as long as he got his money!!
