Best Needleless Syringe for cleaning Tonsil?

Post by firecracker »

Hi I'm looking at the syringes right now...is the Monoject 412 the best one to clean the tonsil crypts with water? Or is there an even better one? I found this on a hobby site..but I know they sell it on dental sites too.

http://www.hobbico.com/tools/hcar3785main-2.jpg

I found it for $1.50 on this site and the shipping is only like 3.50, and they except money orders if you dont have a card. Another site was trying to charge 10 dollars for shipping..rediculous.

thanks for any help :)

That's the kind I've been using. Make sure you store the rubber piston inside the syringe between uses. Otherwise it expands and becomes too tight to use.

Lately I haven't found the syringe to be effective at getting out all of the tonsil stones.

Hi Hope4now, thank you soo much for sharing your tip..I would have never have known otherwise.

How do you know there are still stones stuck in there..can you still see them...or you just know by the smell?
Thanks once again.

you can make one by yourself very easily, you would need a regular medicine syringe and a q-tip.

cut the cotton wool ends and insert the q-tipp into the taper exit of the syringe. thats it.

if you had trouble getting it throughout my bad english, i can make a photo.

I still taste them occasionally. After sipping hot water I can taste them in the back of my mouth. I think the syringe may be pushing some of the stones further in rather than flushing them out.

Maybe you'll find a technique that works better than mine. Let us know if you do!

what i noticed is if you should really push them to the more inside of the crypt, it will either move back after a period of time(probably while eating because the motion of your whole mouth does affect your tonsils) or it will continue to grow there until it is too big to stay in there.

thats my theory about it, might not be right. i have a crypt where the stone sometimes moves till i cant see it nomore but then after a short time has moved back by itself. does not mean this will happen to every stone you might push to the more inside.

once a stone moved in another crypt while i tried to get it out and stayed in there for a longer time i think, because that crypt started developing a related odour and after 2 weeks of my home remedy treatment (water syringe, qtipp pressing and roeder instruments) it did come out quite larger then before.

my other home remedies for tonsil stones:

- roeder instruments (röderbesteck)
http://www.medishop.de/images/medishop. ... /36120.jpg
intrument to create a vacuum with to suck out your tonsils... at least worth a try.

-mallebrin
http://images.apozon.de/images/ebay/artikel/1671185.jpg
some kind of mouthwash, which i gargle or inject with the needleless syringe into the crypt of the tonsils. its concepted for fighting upcoming colds, i heard. its based on Aluminium chloride. i figure its might be sold under different product names in the entire world.

-long wooden tooth pick

-grapefruit seed extract (GSE)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grapefruit_seed_extract
i once got rid immediatly of a real bad taste in my mouth by using this one first try. caution: there are different types out there, i think they differ in its pureness, i dont remember exactly, you should research first on which one to go for when fighting tonsilstones, because it is said to matter a lot. i hardly remember, maybe it was the one with 400...per ... instead of just 200...

The monoject 'as is' shoots a very thin stream of water. I had more success dislodging tonsil stones when I clip a bit of the syringe off to make the stream of water thicker. The monoject syringe gets thicker as it gets closer to the reservoir.

Also, I use a GUM lighted mirror to look at my tonsils to ensure that I'm aiming the syringe correctly.

Just a suggestion...test it out and see what works best for you.
