Hi Everyone,

Went to the UK dental hygienist, as i sat in the chair which reclined, i began to feel like a four year old again

initial inspection results were good, they checked gums and teeth, using a gum probe they said pockets were 0 except one pocket which was nearly 1 (unexpected wow) it would seem i have no deep pockets for bad bacteria to go...fantastic, a little bit of calculus on 2 rear bottom teeth,

some staining was present bit i had smoked for 20 years and never been to a hygienist so kinda expected really, gums looked healthy, although it was noted i had a small ulcer which i think is caused by stress rather then bacteria (is a tad sore but a 3 times daily salt water rinse will resolve) in general it all looked very good.

They removed the calculus by scratching with a dental steel hand tool thingy which was not painful.

they then gave me googles, laid a plastic pinny type thing over me,then got the dental water type pik unit which by the feel of its power was mains water supply power, it makes quite a bit of noise and i had to constantly make myself aware to remain relaxed, they basically point and shoot/fire the jet of water into and around the gum,

in about 4 places i experienced what i can only describe as raw tooth pain to what felt like the roots of the tooth being washed, it was worse by the ulcered tooth ,they said if its gets too much to raise a hand and they would stop, but by the time i had made a mumbled aargh mmmm wincing sound, they would say done and move to the next tooth.
i believe that being able to clean in the areas thay are able to get to with the device is great progress, thats where some of the source of the horrid smell was originating from for me.

still no fecal smell on tongue, although the tongue coating is back to its normal rug state now anti biotics are out my system, as for BB i believe it still needs improvement, i think excercise is going to help as i am way stressed out (lapsed because of anti biotic reaction)

i have been flossing every other day yep with knots in and it does not smell at all, electric toothbrush in the morning and trying to get into the habit of evening as well, rinsing swishing and pulling water through my teeth after every meal or snack, i am also still oil pulling in my 1hour morning drive to work - this combination is helping.

best wishes

Hi Everyone,

still no fecal smell on tongue :D

still vigorously rinsing mouth out with water after every meal, only flossing once a week which no longer smells at all, yep also with knots in lol.

I have not been oil pulling for a week as i have been testing my new Panasonic Dentacare EW1211 Rechargeable Oral Irrigator instead - the one on amazon uk as i am uk based it uses a 2 pin adaptor to plug into uk mains, depending on your country depends on the power, link below

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Denta ... 357&sr=8-1

it is better then expected, actually very powerful, shooting a stream/jet of water thru the nozzle into the gums, it also has a combined air and water setting, water must be tepid not cold or it can feel a little ouch! you can move it around forcing into all the nooks and crannys - an to my surprise (more like wtf?) it removed a couple of bits of food?? there should be nothing there...it has allowed me to clean right up into my impacted wisdom tooth which is partly thru the gum, something came out but was down the drain before i could inspect it.

obviously you will try and look at what you are doing the first few times, once you have soaked everything in sight you will choose to keep your mouth closed when you press the on button
only opening it slightly to let the water dribble to the sink.

hands up i had used a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and some new colgate flurioguard mouthwash in it (which it clearly states do not)
this helps to get bacteria killer into the gums, i do not rinse afterwards, just spit any residue, morning and evening, after which i wash it out fill it a little with clean water and use it to flush thru,

i have noticed today my one particulary gum that was loose at the top around the front of one particulary molar (for god knows how long) is adhered back to the point its like it has been superglued!! i had not checked that for a while so its quite difficult to pinpoint when it did but it has taken shed loads of time to repair, so everything i have done and doing has helped in one way or another - so its working!

My BB has improved as i no longer have a fecal tongue, but there is still a problem, i am still fine tuning my diet even more, if i am not careful all i will be eating soon is air lol.
i also intend to excercise but at the moment my xbox is taking priority

So as far as medical examinations go, do you have any idea what the source of your problem is?

You're becoming healthier overall, which is good, keep it up!

Everyone's hopping on the Oral Irrigator Bandwagon... And I need to also! Maybe after payday...

medical examinations have not pinpointed the problem although recently i had found out i have impacted wisdom teeth, i know there is stuff below my gums but they are saying my gums appear healthy so a deep clean is not required mmm

yep am feeling more healthy, especially not smoking for 2 years.

i am of the opinion of a few things, cleaning around and below my gums hence the oral irrigator, which is not as powerful as the dental hygienist machine, but power wise is very respectable and you can feel a little raw pain deep down,
i believe using the device mixing tepid water with a small amount of bacterial killing fluid like hydrogen peroxide or a decent mouthwash (although they clearly state do not) is going to kill smelly bacteria in its tracks, so its well worth it, i am 40 never had anything like this performed on me till recently or i would have purchased a long time ago - for me this is something i will now always do

overhaul of diet removing meat, dairy, eggs, eating lots of fruit and veg and taking supplements, washing my mouth out after every meal has stopped my floss from smelling so the food source has been removed (or best as i can) from bacteria, there can be up to 16 different types of pesticides sprayed onto our food which i believe some fruits will absorb, maybe some of us are allergic to some of them, that could come out in breath obviously would not smell nice eh?
its more then possible some people are ingesting thier problem.

excercise - i am way too stressed all the time, just living feeling like an outcast all the time is not good for the soul.

hope you find something that helps.

Regards Vince
