I wanted to do this right when I started my journey to end this damned curse!!

I started with possible causes from problems in the mouth. I saw several dentists who all said my teeth and gums look fine. The reason why I needed a deep cleaning recently was because I hadn't seen a dentist in almost 5 years, and in those 5 years there was a period of time where I stopped caring about oral hygiene altogether simply out of frustration. I saw dentists and periodontists.

Then I saw a GI doctor to make sure it's not any stomach issues, i.e. acid reflux, h. pylori, etc. - all NEGATIVE.

Next, I'm going to see "Oral Medicine" at UCSF where they'll inspect my mouth in general and take culture samples.

ma51fyfy wrote:@source, thats interesting. I always had the feeling that my BB comes from my adenoids. I have the theory that there are bacteria and they make my tongue white because mucus is flowing down.
I had it checked twice. the one siad i have no adenoid, and the other one said i have one but they are small.
My tonsils are already out.

Do you have any problems breathing through your nose? i have no problems at all, but nevertheless i have the feeling that htey should be taken out.

what do you think whould I do?
The only reason I'm considering my adenoids as a suspect is because I have ALWAYS had this small lump of something in the back of my throat that gives me that feeling of the need to clear my throat. No matter how far back I clean, I can't get rid of it. When I asked my ENT when she was doing an nasal endoscopy to look down my throat and see if there are any abnormalities and she hasn't found anything.

If you have been told that your adenoids are slightly enlarged/inflamed, and you suffer from BB, then it's worth checking it out. It'll be one more item checked off your list.

As adults, our adenoids are supposed to have shrunk by this age.

That is something interesting that I have also noticed on here.

Anyone know of any correlation between deviated septums and BB?

Probably PND.
Dunno about anyone else, but until I reached puberty I couldn't breathe through my nose at all. My nose was constantly blocked off and I was a constant mouth breather. I remember having annual hospital appointments to see an ENT and he would always say that when I get older my nose would grow and the airways would open. He said he couldn't do any corrective surgery on my deviated septum until my nose grew into an adult nose.

I think my PND is purely a legacy of some kind relating to the mess my nose was in as a child. Somehow, I've never suffered from nasal odours.

The bone in the nose is crooked which prevents mucus flowing out normally, results in it being trapped in the sinuses. To check for deviated septum get a CT scan.
Of course if mucus can't flow out it will just rot in the maxillary sinus. This happened to me, but it never gave me a fecal - like odour.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.
