Smelling own breath outside

Post by Pleasehelp »

I believe this has come up before, but I have to ask, how many of you can strongly smell you own breath the second you go outside? For me, on some days it is immediate. I'm having a very hard time determining if it is sinus or tongue based. It also smells through my nose, which I know because even if I'm sitting in a room not talking, the whole room will start to smell. I just went outside for a brief second, and immediately smelled dog crap. But course there was none. It's like as soon as I inhale fresh air, especially cold air, I can smell what everyone else is clearly smelling. But when I go back inside I cant smell it. Does anyone else have a similar experience with this?

But it's not constant the whole time I'm outside, it comes and goes. Usually it's just for the first few seconds I go outside. But if I'm exercising, it will be constant.

I feel that in cold weather, when you are outside, the breath odor is sometimes worse. And sometimes it's totally the opposite.
I get a very bad breath odor inside the office building but sometimes I don't feel it (even though I surely have it) when I am outside.

And these days, since I have a mask on my face while I am outside, I breathe hard through the mouth and can clearly smell the fecal shitty odor.

What a miserable life !

That’s some hi tech stuff right there. Thanks for your knowledge dr aydin.

If I brush and go through my routine I cannot smell my own breath. I do the lick test and get a stale saliva bad smell. I also get a bad smell if I rub some cotton gauze on back of tongue. But generally don’t smell any offensive odour from breath only other people... I sometimes get a bounce back if I’m talking to someone my breath seems to bounce back of there breath and I can smell it. I belive there is a chemical reaction like the doc was saying

I also think that some people don’t necessarily smell odour but react to the gas that is released . My wife for example says she can’t smell me but Anytime I talk to her or exhale closely she rubs nose or from my perspective gets irratated like she’s not getting oxygen, might also open window or put aircon up...

Odorus gases make a cloud like gas island. Middle point of each island have maximum gas concentration.
they are exhaled from the nose (Type2) or mouth (Type 1).
If the gas(es) are heavy, they immediately collapse after exhaled
Or they stay suspended for a while, then, diluted or gives chemical reactions with nitrogen or oxygen of the room air , or they join with each other with/out chemically reacted, eventually timely disappeared. Light gases like organic ones or under 6 carbons, may have longer life in the room air especially when cold prolongs their life. Any people who enter to room can recognize halitosis.

Dr. Murat,

What type of Chronic Halitosis (unrelated to dental hygiene) is treatable if not curable?

Dr aydin, which supplements would you recommend that would help with bad breath.

I Bought some Reuteri pro biotics so I’m hoping that helps
