It's the first one we've found who's had anything done with the Lingual Tonsils, so I'm happy she's here. Just think there was a misunderstanding between you two. She didn't have bad breath but got it slightly from the operation (temporary), so she's not part of this gang (luckily for her) but we can still get info about this rare procedure from herJimi wrote:

its still a little swollen right now...it does look alot smoother although theres a layer of skin that is now peeling off so im sure when it does i can tell much better....i had no idea that bacteria even hid back there...so thats good to know!Larc400 wrote:C'mon you two, there's love in the air.
Can you tell me if the area where your lingual tonsils were (the very back of your tongue) is now kind of even on the surface? Normally it's bumpy, and that's where bacteria hide etc and for unlucky people, like some of us, that area has a charming stench.

Hi tam24hair! welcome!!
i´m happy to know from you, you are the first that we know that has gone through a procedure of this kind....we been investigating on this for a while now and your experience will be very worth for us..... please keep us updated of your progress and final healing....
I´ve have my palatine tonsils lasered cause they were cprityc, and when they are like that they easily get rests of food stuck, and this cause overgrowth of bacteria, infections and a bad smell......the laser realyy helped. The healing is not very problematic at least in the palatine case....
I´m very interested in your case, please let us know everything you may find particular or any doubt you can share or questions....
good luck!

hey when you had yours lasered how long did it take for you to heal? i had mine done sept 5 and i am still in pain and cant eat a normal diet...also is it safe to be swallowing that layer of skin that was burnt and now peeling off? mine is peeling in chunks and it makes me gag at times...and i try to cough it up but it doesnt work!

In my case, i think that the total healing took about 2 or 3 weeks, but the same day i was alrready eating ice cream and liquid aliments.... it had hurt for some days when i swallow... but not so big deal....in fact, i took very few painkillers....the ent told me that i could use them if i need it, and i really don´t need it that much,
But i think your case is quite different, as the lingual tonsils are more exposed when you eat, drink, and swallow, everything pass inexorably through them....it makes sense that the pain could be more, and more annoying.... and you take out your adenoids too and this should be adding a little more pain cause is another place to heal....
I think the peeling should be a normal step in the healing process, but if it keeps bothering maybe you could consult it with your ent....but i think it should be normal....
The procedure that i exactly did is what is explained on this interview:
http://www.badbreathhalitosis.com/artic ... inkelstein
the photo of the palatine tonsils that is showed, shows the beggining of the healing process..... is quite the same in your case??
And the other picture....did your ent use this kind of lasser? did you have local anesthesia or you were totally sleep??
Did your adenoids were lasered to or just removed??
Could you tell me how was the procedure that he did to you in details???
Thank you!

Hi Tam and welcome to the site.
Dont worry about Jimi, although he is a great person that started this site, bad breath is the least of Jimi's problems. Hopefully we can find a cure for being a paranoid a$$ at the same time we find a cure for BB.
Please continue to visit as your experience is priceless and their are many here that can learn from what you have gone thru. Its super rare that anyone posts here ESPECIALLY someone without chronic halitosis like 99 percent of us have.
Thanks again and please return to help with our journey.
