Lactobacillus Salivarius works very well for me!

Post by stanislav »

Hello

I've been reading this forum for quite some time. I just registered to tell you, that I had tremendous success with a probiotic called Lactobacillus Salivarius. Lactobacillus Salivarius is quite different from other Lactobacillus strains, since it is proteolytic, which means, that it acts on proteins in your bowels that otherwise would putrify.

I decided to test this probiotic, because I read a very positive testimonial on curezone:

http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=558542#i
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=558603#i
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=558604#i
http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=558632#i

As far as I know there are only 2 suppliers of pure lactobacillus salivarius. Rgarden and Customprobiotics:
http://www.rgarden.com/products/lsalivarius.html
http://customprobiotics.com/Merchant2/m ... gory_Code=

I've taken 0.8 grams a day of pure lactobacillus salivarius from custom probiotics (since it's the cheaper source) on an empty stomach before going to sleep. I've been doing this for the past 2 weeks with great success so far. I can detect no bad smell anymore when I lick the back of my tonge. I also seems to improve my skin!

Stainslav, Just wondering what u mean by "lick the back of my tongue". What exactly is your method for checking your own breath? I`m always a little skeptical of anything posted on curezone, it seems they are just a bunch of product pushers.

Sorry for this rather awkward description. English is not my first language.

I just rub the tip of my finger on the back of my tongue, wait a few seconds and than sniff on it. I know, it's not a 100% reliable method to detect ones bad breath, but I'm too embarassed to ask someone to check my breath.

English is not my first language either, but still you sound a bit commercial for me! What you are saying might be true, and I might want to try these products, but I must add the following comments:

- the method you mentioned for testing your bad breath is one of the most reliable among others
- your post has a stronger emphasis on "advertising" the product instead of telling your experinces
- the whole post feels so "edited" and "built up", there is not much personality nor in the text, neither in the content

Stanislav, i'm a new member also. i wanted to ask you more about the l salivarius. are you still taking it? i have been taking their 6 strain powder, and the r garden salivarius capsules. i first started with the r garden pills. the difference it made in the first week was miraculous. i thought that i'd found the ultimate cure and was rid of bb forever. but after the 1st week, i had to keep upping my dosage for it to work as well. now i'm up to something like 20 pills 3 times a day! and still it doesn't work like it used to. i have to say tho' it has still made a tremendous amount of difference, so i'll keep taking it. but i'm wondering if i should just switch to custom probiotics' salivarius strain. any feedbac from you regarding your experience with it would be very much appreciated.

I'm still taking it and it still works perfectly well! I still can't detect any bad smell, when I rub the tip of my finger on the back of my tongue. I also didn't have any negative reactions to my breath and nobody told me that my breath was bad during the last 4 weeks since I've been taking lactobacillus salivarius.

I'm not advertising anything. I'm also not related to smileguy. I just want to share my success.

I have to admit that my bad breath was probably rather mild compared to most cases in this forum. But nevertheless I was repeatedly told by several people during the last 2 years that my breath was bad and it was a devastating problem for me. It is a huge relief, to have found something that has no known negative side effects in the long run.

L.salvarius also has given me more regular bowel movements.

Stanislav, thank you for your reply. I didn't think you were trying to sell anything at all. I'm glad to hear that it works for you. I have placed an order with C. Probiotics to try their L. Salivarius. It's of a much higher dosage than the R Garden ones - altho' in believing that i'd found the solution for me after i'd tried one bottle of the RG ones, I literally spent HUNDRENDS of dollars and bought bottles and bottles of them, which I haven't used and might go to waste. Oh well.

I still firmly believe in probiotics being a powerful way to treat this condition. I've tried eveyrthing to no avail, and probiotics have been the only solution close to permanently diminishing my condition. It's the only thing that has helped my dry mouth issue. (And like you, my bowel movements improved a lot while my bb got better.) Right now part of my problem is that I wonder if my body is developing a resistance to the probiotics as i keep taking them, and that's why i hvae to keep increasing the dosage. That's a scary thought - but I have also noticed that even taking the 6-strain powder once at night and once during the day, (and taking the salivarius pills throughout the day) my condition has definitely improved. I used to have a mixture of different smells on my breath, now the worst culprits seem to have disappeared after taking salivarius. My theory is that whatever that I'm taking now has killed certain strains of bacteria in my mouth. Therefore some of the odors are gone but some are still here. Maybe the solution is to find the right strain and the right dosage for me to replace the bad bacteria. What gives me anxiety is that even on the much more potent C. Probiotics strain of salivarius, i'll experience the same thing as with the other kind - that i'll have to keep upping the dosage until it no longer works. But I guess I"ll just have to try it and see.

THank you again for your input. It's good to know that what i believe to work is working for someone else. I'm also going to try oil pulling - it can't hurt.

But how much do you spend per month? Over 1000 USD?

I hope that I won't develop a resistance to it. So far my daily dose is rather low. The guy on curezone also took it for several years without developing resistance. So, I still hope that it works out in the long run.

There's a very interesting discussion on another forum about probiotics with lots of useful information. Check this out:
http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php? ... f=6&t=9227&

Some people have mentioned in this thread that some probiotics gave them very good results at the beginning but had a rather constipating effect after some weeks. So I guess, that probiotis can be a double-edged sword. I guess it's very important to find the right strains and the right dose.

I'm also considering to check out other gut flora modulators, such as lactoferrin. Lactoferrin is a protein found in whey. It has some very fascinating properties. I kills bad bacteria (such as clostridia), yeasts (such as candida), viruses and even protozoa (single cell parasites). I also promotes the growth of good bacteria such as bifidus and is antiinflammatory. Check this out:

it's not that bad, you can go look on their sites - stanislav posted the links. it is expensive tho'. but this is the closest thing that has given me relief. i do talk much more freely at times, i have to say. and my energy level has also increased. but my goal is to find a way to get rid of it completely. and i'm not there yet.

i have only been taking the kind from custom probiotics for about 1-2 weeks. but it seems like the effect is more accumulative than the r garden kind. i feel the effect more after having been taking it for a few days. when i take it before bedtime, i definitely sleep through the night better because of less dryness in the mouth, and also a fresher breath in the morning. it could also be because i didn't know i was supposed to put the r garden pills in the fridge and only did it a month after purchase. maybe some of the bacteria had been destroyed by not being refridgerated. Nevertheless, i still take those throughout the day - but I don't want to be taking 20 pills at a time! When i began, i only had to take about 3-4 at a time.

Should've refrigerated the pills when i got them!

Anyway, hope this helps somebody else. I don't really believe in mouthwash and such because from the dry mouth, and the relief that I have already felt, I know my problem comes from inside my body, and not just my mouth. Maybe we all have different causes of our breath problem, but I know that I'm on the right track with mine in the direction of probiotics.

Stanislav, thanks so much for the info. please do keep me informed if you find out anything new...

lactoferrin sounds interesting to me. i only browsed through the article briefly - it's a difficult read. do you think it has something to do with bad breath? how do you get lactoferrin? are there supplements?

do you think that your bb is completely gone, by the way? did you have a dry mouth problem? even when i can't smell the odor, i still have "sticky" saliva which makes my mouth feel dirty. have you experienced that? have you experienced a change in your energy level?
