need your advice, take a look at my teeth.

Post by username123 »

Hi guys, i've been reading posts on this forums for a while but never made one.

last year i decided to really try and solve my bb. i went to a doctor and dentist, and i tried everything that i found on the internet, but it gave nothing.

i dont believe that its coming from the tounge, i think that most ppl think so just because u can taste it on the tounge.

but ive been wrong many times, however i believe that its coming from the gums in my case.

i've never been good at oral hygien but i have started to really take care of my mouth now, when i floss it really hurts i almost get tears and the pain lingers on for about 20 minutes after im done flossing, the thing is that it only hurts between some teeth. so a week ago i went to the dentist again and i told him that i want to get ride my tooth stone\tartar?.

and he said that i dont have any.
but i dont know if i believe him, cause to me it looks like i have a lot of it, so im gonna post a picture of my teeth and maybe u guys can help me.

if u have any experience with or know anything about the thins i've written please post your advice.

Your teeth does indeed have stains or something, not sure if that's tartar or what. So did the dentist help you to polish your teeth?

It does sound to me like the problem may be with your gums since normal flossing shouldn't hurt. Do your gums bleed when you floss? If it does then that's another sign. Maybe try lightly brushing your gums as well when you brush your teeth (if you haven't already been doing so).

I had a look...looks like stain rather than plaque or tartar
The gums don't look inflamed, they look pink and healthy. This stain would not cause any odor. But gum disease could. Gum disease would show as bleeding, swollen gums, with loose teeth and receding gums in later stages. It doesn't look like you have this. Sometimes food can get stuck between teeth, especially in areas which are difficult to clean. This could also smell bad. Holes in teeth can collect food and bacteria in the same way- but you would probably feel this with tongue and also have toothache

I wonder whether you drink coffee, tea, red wine or smoke? I know that soy milk also causes this.

Mouthwashes containing a chemical called chlorhexidine can cause staining like this if you use it for more than a few weeks.

It also sounds like you are being too hard when you floss if it hurts afterwards. Need to be very gentle, and only once a day (but brushing twice a day). Clean the surfaces of the teeth rather than cutting deep into the gum. If it is difficult for you to floss between some teeth, maybe get some of the single tufted interdental brushes...you might find easier.

Avoid alcohol mouthwashes, they dry out the mouth, and increase number of bacteria, could make any bad breath worse. Try to keep hydrated. Keep mouth moist by sipping water occasionally. Toothbrush can be gently used on the tongue to, as far back as comfortable- most bacteria live at the back of the tongue.

Do you take any medication that gives you a dry mouth?

Of course, all this would only help if source of smell was mouth. Could be respiratory, GI or ENT cause.

Hope that helps

Awesome Dolittle . For some reason I thought you had were a member here already . Sorry for any inconvenience . Thank you for your professional contributions brother .

Username123 , I'm wondering what the stains on your teeth are . Coffee ? Is this even after a dentist polished your teeth ? Anyway ,it doesn't look like tarter /'tooth stone' . Just food/drink stains .

I get a couple sore spots when flossing too . Maybe we are just getting close to a nerve . If you have no bleeding ,your gums look good and healthy .

Username123 , what makes you think you have chronic bb ? What reactions and comments do you get ?

im certain about my bad breath, cause i have been lucky and i got really good friends that i can trust and talk to.

i remeber my parents talking to the dentist about my bad breath when i was around five, and i remember when i was seven and sleept at my friends house he noticed it to.

could the stains be from smoking weed? cause i did a lot of that when i was 17-18 years old.

i took out two impacted wisdom teeth three months ago, food had been getting stuck there and giving away a rotten smell. i have two small open sockets from where my wisdom teeth where but i rinse them with a syringe i got from my dentist.

the white coating on my tounge has been reduced with 90% i only have it at the very back, dont know why its been reduced. but the smell is still there.

i dont take any medications.
